I loved last week's episode and it ended up making me mad. Fitz and Simmons are the best part of the show and have been since at least season 3. They're by far the best actors on the show. Yet the show constantly puts them apart (from each other and the team) in this "they're cursed" angle so they can just keep shoving Coulson and Quake down our throats because they decided 7 years ago those two would be the stars and they can't stop now. This bizarro Coulson might be the dumbest character this show has had in 6 years. Also, the reactions of FitzSimmons to their alter egos banging in front of them amused me. Also this...
Guess not, unless this is wrong https://deadline.com/2019/07/agents-of-shield-ending-season-7-marvel-abc-1202646416/
Caught up on the episodes from the last couple weeks and it actually kind of got good again after Fitz/Simmons came back. Story is kind of interesting, although my level of interest in this cyborg planet thing is zero. I'm still going to be really annoyed if the end game of this is this Sarge guy is now Coulson moving forward.
Finale was a mess, but this is certainly good news. https://www.cbr.com/report-agents-of-shield-recruits-agent-carter-star-hayley-atwell/ Thought they might go this route, considering they are back in the 30's at the end of the season finale.
Enoch rescued FitzSimmons, they separated to solve time travel w/o a monolith like Tony Stark then Simmons jumped back to before the Hunters blew up the temple and killed Daisy, Mack, Yo-Yo and May in their timeline then jumped back into the past from when the Empire State Building was being constructed.
I get all of that. The two hours were still terrible. Izel and Sarge are possibly the two worst characters in the history of the show (which is saying something considering how awful the Kree were last season). Their stories were terrible. Whoever played Izel was a horrible actress. Sarge's final story was beyond stupid and his actions made no sense in the end. Also, they made me think they actually killed May, who somehow became a worse character this season with all her "I love Coulson" stuff. Dead May might have made those episodes worth it. Instead we get yet another scenario where it appears Simmons and Fitz are separated, another fake Coulson for the women to cry about, and more Daisy, May, Mack and Yo-Yo being stupid. It's on me for continuing to watch after the debacle that was S5, but here we are.
Nothing in this show could ever top the Hydra twist at the end of the first season to coincide with Winter Soldier’s release. It was absolutely brilliant. Really wish Feige and Perlmutter didn’t have such a falling out.
I wish Feige had control over TV from the beginning, by all accounts Perlmutter is a massive piece of shit.
I enjoyed the premiere fwiw but I like all SHIELD/Hydra history lessons tbqh too bad its too early to see Peggy again :(
Only thing I didn't like about last night's episode was afterward I had to watch the end of season 6 to try to remember how the hell they were in that situation. Last season was really bad. I'm intrigued by the premise for this season, especially if the preview at the end was correct where they're jumping into other times rather than just staying in 1931. I'm concerned the Chronicom people aren't interesting enough to hold as the main villains over a long time, though. I was already bored with them last season.
Hoping Fitz comes back soon. Sucks that he's always the one who they separate from the group because he's the best character. Daisy is the worst character and the writing for her over the years is laughably stupid. There's zero growth on anything, and she's just a bad person (who happens to be very good looking).
Do you like Daisy as a character based on the things she says and does? Or do you just think she's hot and are thankful when she's on your TV?
i made that comment prior to watching the newest episode. After watching it, I agree that it was a dumbass decision and I hated her for it at the time but I just can’t fully hate her
Anyone make it through the season to this point? It's the series finale tonight. I stopped watching after the third or fourth episode due to the lack of Fitz, and apparently he hasn't been around all season.
The show definitely had some rocky seasons, but that was a great series finale. I won't argue with the creative decision, but I do think... Spoiler Daisy should have died.
I just grew to not like too many of the characters. Fitz and Simmons were pretty much the only people I cared about, and they took Fitz out for 11 episodes this season (again). Last season's Sarge absurdity made me hate LMD Coulson before it even started, and I've never liked YoYo and May. I'll probably try to watch it through at some point, but it's just not great watching a show when you want to root against characters who are supposed to be heroes. That's what the show became for me.
Went back and watched the ones I missed through ep 11. All I have left now is the 2 hour finale. Still wasn't a fan of a lot of the middle stuff, but the time loop episode was one of the 2-3 best of the entire series and brought me back. The time loop episode, along with the two that followed, are the most I've liked Daisy probably since season 2 or 3. Souza's a big reason for it, and keeping him around was a great move on their part.
Finale was good. I didn't really like the Jemma memory stuff, but I think that was mostly because it brought me back to the end of Chuck, which I hated.
I finally said goodbye to the greatest ensemble cast in Marvel history many tears were had, many of them were happy ones you will be missed SHIELD
