I liked the backstory with the kid and his dad = especially the part with refusing to throw the last fight, betting all his money on himself to win by KO, and putting all of the money in Matt's name for college (although I'm assuming that a Summa Cum Laude blind orphan wouldn't ever have a problem finding a scholarship).
Great Series overall. A few minor gripes. Wish they would have contrasted Kingpin's size more. Seems he only looked huge in the bridge scene. Hopefully they tweak the costume a little bit before the next season. Vanessa is looking good. Amazing fight scenes
She was great for that character... Smoking hot (actually all three main actresses were), and her evolution from being afraid of Fisk to being part of his world was very well played.
Finally finished. Great series and can't wait for next season. I agree on having kingpin look more like he's 6'7 or so. The bridge scene in the last episode was awesome with his slow walk. Development of his character was great writing. Actor portrayed him perfect and loved how he just flipped in a split second from calm to I'm gonna kill you.
It's the origin story from the comic book. Might as well say we don't need to know Bruce Waynes parents were killed when he was young.
Finished it last night. Really enjoyed it. And agree on where it would rank with other Marvel properties. If it's not on the first tier, it's right below it. Can't wait to see where they go from here. Excited for AKA Jessica Jones as well, just want to see how this umbrella of The Defenders continues.
The only thing I didn't like about season 1 was Spoiler Wesley getting killed I just didn't see a need for it, it didn't seem to do anything to advance any story arcs, and closed what I thought would be an intriguing subplot for season 2 I didn't have any problems with the costume. It was functional and realistic.
It's real, but they didn't shoot the show in HK, it was actually shot in my neighborhood. Here's where their office is. https://www.google.com/maps/@40.708...ata=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s8XrxYzj3hQWhz5h2w6qdXA!2e0 I walk by it every day to get to the subway for work. Gonna keep my eye out for when they shoot season 2.
Looks like we might be getting Elektra next season http://comicbook.com/2015/05/26/possible-elketra-auditions-for-season-2-of-netflixs-daredevil/
MARVEL'S DAREDEVIL / 4 JUN 2015 RUMOR: JASON STATHAM EYED FOR BULLSEYE IN MARVEL'S DAREDEVIL SEASON 2 209 He was reportedly spotted meeting with Marvel personnel.RACHEL PAXTON-GILLILANMarvel's Daredevil may have found one of its season 2 villains in The Transporter star Jason Statham. According to Latino Review, Statham was seen meeting with Marvel personnel earlier this week. A source at Marvel reportedly told the site Statham is wanted for the part of Bullseye but the information hasn't been confirmed. Jason Statham Would Love More Expendables 00:49 Statham was in talks to appear in a cinematic reboot of Daredevil before the rights reverted to Marvel. The action star recently appeared in Furious 7 and can now be seen in the action-comedy Spy. Previously, Daredevil star Charlie Cox said he wanted Bullseye, Elektra, and The Punisher to appear in the second season. Earlier rumors already suggested love interest and ninja assassin Elektra will join season 2, but there's been no word on whether we will also get The Punisher.
Bullseye and Kingpin are pretty much 1 and 1a when it comes to the arch villains of Daredevil. Bullseye can basically turn anything into a weapon and he never misses. Think of him like the MCU Hawkeye dialed up to an 11.
"The site goes on to mention that Mr Fear is expected to also show up in season two, but one of the biggest surprises has to be the fact that Spider-Man villain Mysterio is also being lined up to appear. "
This guy. Perfect casting. http://marvel.com/news/tv/24699/jon...iginal_series_marvels_daredevil#ixzz3cbfd34hP
Liked his character in Mob City, which should translate well to Castle. And of course at this point, Marvel's casting decisions have been dead on.
I really like this decision. He was really good on Walking Dead as Shane and really brought some intense scenes.
Feel like Punisher would be an awesome addition to Daredevil in season 2. Maybe an early episode devoted to dealing with him, a cameo midway through, and them teaming up at the end.
Looks to be much more than just a small role. MARVEL'S DAREDEVIL / 28 JUN 2015 DAREDEVIL CO-SHOWRUNNER REPORTEDLY REFERRING TO SEASON 2 AS DAREDEVIL VS. PUNISHER 547 Will Punisher be Daredevil's primary antagonist?LUCY O'BRIENAccording to a new report, Daredevil's second season will focus primarily on the conflict between Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle, aka The Punisher. A source close to The Nerdist says that Daredevil's new co-showrunner Marco Ramirez is referring to Season 2 as 'Daredevil vs. the Punisher', which suggests that either A: the pair will be battling it out to be the hero - or indeed, anti-hero - of Hell's Kitchen, or B: that Punisher might play a more traditionally villainous role in the show. Marvel's Daredevil - Is Punisher a Villain in Season 2? 06:23 Last month, Marvel's head of TV Jeph Loeb said that “Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”
Just finished the season last night. Thought it was incredible. D'Onofrio was outstanding. Wish Wesley were still alive (great character).
Would I need to have seen/read anything prior to starting this? Never really been into the superhero genre but I've heard nothing but good things about this.
No, it's an excellent origin story where nothing major really goes over the heads of people who've never read the comic. Maybe just do a quick brush up on wiki if anything about his bio and abilities.
I'm not big on comic book characters or anything and didn't know much about Daredevil before beginning and still enjoyed it immensely. It starts from the beginning so no worries about that.
Ex-cop/Soldier whose family was killed by the mob. After that, he went underground and basically tried to kill every criminal in NYC. He doesn't have any powers, but he basically has no limits to what he'll do to bad guys.
