Will probably binge through it this weekend. Without seeing any of it yet, seems kind of weird it's only 8 episodes after going with 13 for all the other seasons to set this up.
Finally, better fight choreography from Danny Rand. Edit: Also, the series staple, that hallway fight scene
Binged my way through all 8 episodes. Spoiler - This show reminded me why Jessica was my favorite character of the four before this. She was really good. I would very much like to see a season of her and Luke walking around NY doing whatever. Her scenes with Matt were also really good. - Danny continues to be the dumbest hero I've ever seen in any show or movie. It was nice to see the others call him on at least some of that stupidity, but he still ended up being an idiot in the Elektra fight and giving them exactly what they wanted. - The second half of ep3-around the middle of ep5 were the high point of the show and I don't think it ever got back to that level the rest of the way - The constant speeches and meetings and convos by the Hand took away from how dangerous they are, IMO. So much talking about stuff and it didn't create the sense of what the plan was for the rest of the city or why millions were going to die. All the conversation was centered around them wanting stuff and not what they were actually going to do with it. - The team deciding to blow up that building in the finale seemed ridiculous to me and completely against the characters in the show.
Ending was kind of anticlimactic for me. Spoiler Was The Hand's goal to resurrect a dragon? Was their any significance to Misty getting her arm cut off? Seemed a little random. Also didn't like how the last scene was just Matt in a church hospital bed. Just thought there should have been more.
Spoiler They weren't trying to resurrect a dragon. My understanding was the substance in the bones was what they needed to bring themselves back from the dead, and that's what they were taking. I'm not a comic book guy, but from what I've read both Misty's arm and DD's church situation are related to the comics.
Regarding Weaver's character... Spoiler She was the biggest disappointment of the show for me. The twist at the end of ep6 created an interesting dynamic going to the finish, but her character gets a lot of screen time and essentially it's essentially a waste, IMO.
Spoiler The needed the bones to create their immortal liquid. Misty getting her arm cut off is a reference to her character losing her arm in the comics. It gets replaced with a bionic arm by Iron Man. They'll swap that part out for Danny Rand replacing it
Just finished it. Meh. Wasn't a rough watch like IF but I was never really fully engaged. It did remind me that the DD fights put all the others to shame. That stunt guy earns his pay.
There was some enjoyable stuff in this but overall thought it was mediocre. Too much unnecessary buildup to a disappointing climax. Some really cringeworthy dialogue too. Outside of DD and parts of JJ these Netflix shows have been a disappointment for me. I'll still binge Punisher immediately when it's released.
Hoping all the shows can pick up if they get away from these stupid villains like the Hand and Diamondback.
I liked it better than it might appear from some of my posts, and I love Rosario Dawson. But... Spoiler That character needs to take more of a back seat moving forward. This is two shows in a row where she just jumps right in against killers and powered people for no reason. Her character was really good in DD, JJ and most of LC. Now they're trying to do too much with her.
You have to trust me I'm trying to protect you 2 lines that made up 50% of the dialogue for the whole season
And the fact that when Sticks was describing the fingers he was supposed to be the most badass. But he just got slapped around the whole season...
They need to just scrap the individual future seasons for Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Just do Heroes for Hire. Their dynamic on the show made both of them better characters. Especially Danny.
If you didn't like the first 4 eps, you're going to really hate the second half of the season. I liked the build up to them joining together (and how they linked all the stories together differently), culminating in the hallway fight/Chinese restaurant scenes that I thought were the best stretch of the show.
Spoiler so Bakuto is one of the five fingers of the Hand, one of the five heretics who betrayed the elders of Kunglung, but also trained with Danny at Kunglung???? only through 5 eps so maybe it's explained later, but that doesn't make much sense to me. unless we're just supposed to believe the elders of Kunglung were really, really stupid (making Danny the Iron Fist would fall in line with that I guess).
I don't really know what you're asking. Danny met Bakuto for the first time when he came back for Colleen in IF.
