I had the great misfortune of stumbling upon the mass shooter subreddit. Definitely not a place to visit if your feeling pessimistic about the future of human civilization. Or in any sort of mood for that matter.
I feel like I ought to consult my attorney before doing something like that. Debates over “Who is more famous, The Columbine guys, or Adam Lanza?” is along the lines of the discourse you should expect.
Easy, Columbine. Lanza is only “famous” to incel’s on a subreddit about mass shooters. The Columbine fucks were huge national news and killed a lot of kids.
Lanza killed more. But I agree. For people of our generation (assuming mid to late 30s) Columbine is a “where were you” time in history. I was a freshman in high school and I vividly remember having a baseball game that evening and not being able to get what happened out of my head. I’m assuming the people on that subreddit are younger.
Yeah I was a sophomore and remember just being at a friends house not really understanding what was going on. Lanza is a monster but as a society, we’d pretty much grown numb at that point to mass shootings. That and a bunch of fuckwads came out in his defense to obviously prove it was all staged and just an attempt to take their guns away. That was really the beginning of the whole conspiracy train going off the rails and taking hold. “See, this photo looks just like that kid. He isn’t dead”. Fucking ghouls.
"i stumbled on this deranged board where they argue about who is the most famous mass shooter, its disgusting" *tmb immediately starts having that argument*
One campus safety officer and one campus police officer killed. Been there quite a few times. My alma mater and a previous employer were in the same conference so our teams played there all the time.
andy ngo deserves to be milled except a different word that rhymes with the word milled (but only as a prank)
not shocking, but the police look so dumb with what they first announced versus what has come out since
I have a buddy that is a cop for Beaverton. His words, ‘I’ll never apply for them…it’s bad.’ I’ve heard about this LONG before this became a bigger, national issue. The amount of credibility to stories I’ve heard from people here a lot longer than my 10 years has been on full-display the last few years.
Sounds like someone should be inspired to (redacted) Andy Ngo. Tired of that bottom feeding piece of shit.
There also hasn't been discussion of the Vegas incident in here, because how could we possibly keep up really
Oh you mean another state failed to enact red flag laws because they view owning a gun as an inalienable right? Cool cool cool.
Pretty ridiculous - two guys got into an argument and it resulted in 14 people shot with one dead. Also at a place that wasn't legally able to sell alcohol but was anyway.
And so Georgia passed a law no longer requiring licensure for CCW. Just love when states ram shit through to make our lives a little more like hellworld.
Alabama is about to pass one. https://www.al.com/news/2022/02/by-...alabama-republicans-defunding-the-police.html
Only read if you want to be depressed - "Gutierrez Rios warned the court that Mora was dangerous, and she had fought for a restraining order for the girls as well, but the court ultimately granted him supervised visitations on weekends." "Gutierrez Rios said in court documents that Mora had been abusive for a decade and had choked her, pushed her, thrown things at her and threatened to kill her." "As part of the order, Mora was repeatedly warned in court documents that he could not own or otherwise possess a gun. Law enforcement sources said he used an illegally obtained AR-15-style rifle in the shooting" https://www.yahoo.com/news/father-killed-3-kids-church-154219787.html
It’s so dumb that the Supreme Court doesn’t better acknowledge the second and third words of the second amendment. well regulated
Obviously every life has value - but the 3 young daughters has fucked me up more than the usual depressing news.
