That video is terrifying. It basically shows that you have no chance if you happen to be in the same area that the shooting starts(unless you're the same race as the racist shooter). You can't run and hide or fight back or do anything. He literally just pulled up to the grocery store, got out of his car, and started shooting people who rationally thought they were doing something completely normal and safe like going out to get groceries. It wouldn't even matter if you had your own gun to try to defend yourself with. There isn't a warning sign or time to react. You're dead if the shooter wants you dead.

This is something I don't think a lot of people realize. These shootings are not drawn out confrontations. Vegas was 10 minutes - 400+ shot, 60 dead. El Paso was 6 minutes - 46 shot, 23 dead. Sandy Hook was 5 minutes - 26 dead at the school. Dayton was 32 seconds - 17 shot, 9 dead. We allow basically anyone to openly carry weapons of war because of something that was written when the only guns that existed could only fire 3-4 rounds per minute. The Dayton shooter fired 41 rounds in 32 seconds. Guns when the 2nd amendment was written could only maintain any semblance accuracy up to around 50m. The Vegas shooter was firing 100 rounds per minute into a crowd 450m away.

I have to see it to have a full understanding - not saying that is normal but just how my brain works I guess. I've seen 3 people murdered (3 different occasions) right in front of me so I'm sure I'm desensitized to some degree but this one was rough - wish the police would have fired off shots in both his ankles and kneecaps or something upon arrest.

But drawing from purely my own experience, drunk dude getting fired up at a bar to physically defend some girl's honor usually has a fuzzy interpretation of exactly how events occured. There's actually a case from Mpls a few years ago where some guy died exactly this same way because some drunk fuck thought he touched their girlfriend or something.

I vividly remember the start of this: 2004 beheading videos were starting to hit the internet. We had a choice as a society, and we chose “yeah imma watch that.” No putting that toothpaste back into the tube, sadly. We can individually choose to not participate, but collectively we’re already in.
There could be a positive out of such a horrific video. It would never happen, but if you had to watch that specific video in order to vote yes on allowing Americans to continue to own assault rifles and keep gun restrictions at a minimum, then I think we’d be a lot closer to getting AR-15s and other military-grade weapons off the market. Literally only takes seeing his first kill in the parking lot to confirm that gun has no place in our society.
This was while she was part of a group waiting in line - guy was walking past her leaving from another bar and grabbed her ass, brother decked him. It was bad - my female AGM literally moved out of town afterwards with PTSD or whatever you would call being at work and watching someone bleed out in front of you.
