something about a guy and a rifle hanging around outside a California high school causing a lockdown. Not the most reputable twitter site in the world though and I probably shouldn't have posted it (but it popped up in my twitter feed at the same time as I was in this thread)
Remember everyone Tennessee is actively trying to kill their populace https://www.tennessean.com/story/ne...re-passes-permitless-handgun-bill/7049477002/
There honest to fuck is not a breaking point for so much of this country. This is just beyond absurd at this point.
We just haven’t found the link. I wish someone would just tell us what these mass shootings all have in common.
^ "Before Congress passed an assault weapons ban in 1994, Americans owned about 400,000 AR-15s, the most popular of these military-style weapons. Today, 17 years after Congress failed to reauthorize the ban, Americans own about 20 million AR-15-style rifles or similar weapons."
but if he had a knife he'd have stabbed two, maybe three whole people and they'd need some stitches, did you ever think about that?
There are dozens of children alive right now getting hugs from their parents and going to school who are going to be shot and killed at school in the next few years, and we’re going to do nothing to try to stop it. It’s gut wrenching to think about.
What are the odds that an American dies from a gunshot versus cancer, heart disease, car accident etc? Has to be approaching one of the leading causes of death
what’s most depressing is that we’ve accepted them as a part of our society and a lot of these posted itt don’t even make national news anymore
School shootings are way down this year because so many students are virtual. I'm already dreading the impact that 1.5 years of virtual "schooling" is going to have on the students from an academic and mental health standpoint when everyone returns in August. I'm very worried we see a spike in school shootings next year as well.
Bruh... ~650k/year to heart disease I think all gun related deaths suicide, murder, etc. are around ~12k. Not saying that number is low/appropriate but no where near heart disease.
Shitty policy. My BiL drives a delivery truck for FedEx and they're not allowed to have their phone in the truck with them at all. If they get caught with it they get fired. I understand from a perspective of avoiding distracted driving, but it really was an issue when the school was trying to get a hold of him because his son was sick. He ended up having to buy an Apple watch with cellular to circumvent that problem.
Not even close. But the difference is, the gunshot deaths are way more preventable if lawmakers would dislodge their heads from their asses.
> Go to track my package on FedEx.com > See big banner on top of the page > "We are deeply saddened by the shooting..." > Jesus fucking Christ
Same as loading and unloading. I tried the job but you aren’t allowed to have your phone on you while at work.
