good to know you can’t comprehend English, or you might be arguing in bad faith like your little pals
Arming teachers is the dumbest shit. Yes let's let the 63yr old librarian go Jason Bourne with a revolver inside a school against a psychopath in body armor with an AR. I'm sure she'll pop two in the knees and one in the chest. No chance she doesn't stop them or that she forgets to lock her desk one day and little Johnny discovers the gun . fire them all into the sun. Truly despicable people.
A little bit, but my point is that the system is broken. And I completely understand your point about acab and why Redav said that they are all useless. I was just pointing out that in this situation they did a good job in a terrible system. It’s ok to have some nuance and see some good in something that you hate from the bottom of your heart. Not sure why some are incapable of that, it’s like arguing with children here sometimes. imagine if your kid is stuck in that school for a second, would you want cops like them to get there in a hurry or would you prefer the uvalde reaction? Seems pretty fucking simple, but of course saying anything on this board about a few cops doing the job well is just an impossible thing to process for some. It always has to be black or white. it is not even close to being comparable to what that idiot tweeted
I would never think about saying good guys with gun did the job and everything is fine after a tragedy like that, there is a very very important distinction here that a few can’t seem to grasp but I know why they do it, I’ve seen that movie before
The same ones screaming slippery slope have criminalized reproductive health care to the extent that women can't get treatment for miscarriages. Neat country we have here.
no one has said the cops did anything wrong in this situation. As a matter of fact they have universally been praised for their actions. You’re using revisionist history Redav post about cops being useless was before the video of their response was out and was a reply to them not taking any action about him texting his friend the suicidal thoughts. I stopped after a page but here are a bunch of posts praising the cops in this situation. You’re upset over nothing .
That’s obvious, Daniel. The post was likening and (at minimum) implicitly excusing selective sunlight on those given a license to kill by the public to law firm advertising.
Sure, but why are some people jumping down my throat after I pointed the same thing out? A long time after the argument is over.
With the response I have seen here lately I have absolutely no problem questioning it. Look at the answer from Where Eagles Dare that guy is smart? Unless he was joking he can’t be
people are jumping down your throat for getting a hissy fit because Redav said cops “are basically useless”. They did well at the school. They fucked by ignoring the texts. Generally cops make situations worse. I’m glad they did their jobs here and prevented more people being killed.
I love how they're claiming some sort of victory because only 3 children and 3 adults were gunned down by a lunatic who had unlimited access to military grade firearms.
I respect his emotion and courage to use his platform but I wish he took the next step. We need to be specific and direct with what we’re asking. “Someone do something” is a statement that easily falls victim to a pseudo bystander effect- everyone hears what they want to hear and feel someone else is being called out. Is he calling for gun reform, mental health reform, increased concealed carry, bullet proof glass, or something else? Call out each Georgia legislator at the federal/state/local level. Call them out by name. Tell them we need gun reform and it starts with assault rifles, background checks, and magazine capacity. Make those in power squirm when their inaction results in tragedy and force them to have sleepless nights as they’re reflecting on what they could/should have done. This was my approach after Uvalde when I sent emails to my representatives, and will be again this evening when I do the same. At this point I don’t know what else to do but I can’t be another person that does nothing.
I see shit like this, where people tie in their caring about gun control to having kids as well. I’m sure they mean well, but this lack of empathy to the point where you can’t possibly support a position unless you can SEE it affecting yourself…gross.
He is the Associate A.D. for Georgia Tech sports communications or something. I think what he said was brave enough.
I think it's fine if you're absolutely clear that the problem is the 400+ million guns in this country and don't do the whole "I'm not a political person" schtick.
I don’t know if McCarthy has kids and I won’t wish Ill on them but man it would be awesome if he died painfully
Personally, I would hope my kids were never in a position to need cops intervening at schools, but that requires whites people to pressure other white people on gun control. I grew up with quite a few people that became police and as far as I know most weren’t dirty, but these same people protect the shitty ones who kill unarmed black people and kids so I hate their profession. Add to it their seemingly overreaching power while basically being a gang and it’s easy to see why people hate all cops.
Yep, definitely need teachers having access to guns to break up those hallway fights. As always, more guns would lead to more deaths
something going on in Winston-Salem right now, sounds like its at a school, suspected two shooters sounds like at least one shooter is down
Forsyth Tech apparently sounds like they are escorting children out, so I guess FT has a grade school ..?
Cops on scanner just said he entered the bathroom where one suspect is down and someone on the radio asked him to confirm caliper size, 9mm is what he said seemed like a strange question to be asking over the radio in the middle of all this
