serious question tho: who cares? why does a practice facility that is almost assuredly being funded by taxpayers influence your opinion on him? if anything it should make you hate him more
I grew up in a state with no pro teams. I got really attached to college fandom. It helps pull me into pro sports to have something local to root for. When you see things like "Carolina" in the name, Palmetto flag at the stadium, headquarters in Rock Hill, internships and scholarship programs at UofSC, it really helps you get the warm and fuzzies. Versus some redneck South Carolinians who are still stuck on "I'll never pull for the CHARLOTTE Panthers!" We carry a chip on our shoulder about the Old North State down here
but those first two things existed before tepper i guess it does go along with the chip on the shoulder thing because i think its a joke they named them carolina just to appease you yokels
My dad brought me home a Panthers shirt in 1995 when the team debuted. (A kid tried to buy it off me at school ) So I've technically been in from the beginning. But it was just hard to feel much attachment. I like the moves Tepper has made; they helped rope me in. But also it's partly just growing up and realizing college sports can only fulfill certain types of needs. (Esp when you're a Gamecock and will never see a championship, ha). So I'm trying out this NFL fandom thing
The stupidest thing is Gamecock fans who are eternally mad they played their first season at Death Valley. When they already approached us first and our short-sighted, money-grubbing AD told them to kick rocks because it could possibly compete with peoples' entertainment budgets
We took that shit and ran with it. Then for some reason they created an unwritten rule to NOT draft any Clemson guys.
So conflicted. I don't want to root for Clemson guys but I do want to win. Just no Douche-shaun please
What are “we” even cheering for right now? (Wow, this feels so weird being on the same team!) Tank and rebuild? We should have lost more games this year
We should have realized this was a total rebuild and traded McCaffrey and built through the draft instead of signing him and then signing teddy. We had the perfect opportunity to tank 2 years ago, land a qb through the draft with a young defense to grow with. Now we are in purgatory which is probably why Rhule has a lifeline for another year.
eli’s only good season of the last 5 years came with him as oc and even as HC he somehow won 11 games. panthers could do much worse
There's actually going to be some really nice public parks/facilities around that development as well as a bunch of new public roads and existing road improvements in an area of Rock Hill that was kind of gross. I'm looking forward to it opening.
What do we make of this? Changes in executive leadership CHARLOTTE — Tepper Sports and Entertainment made a change in leadership Tuesday, with several existing executives taking on new roles. Nick Kelly has been appointed chief executive officer of Tepper Sports and Entertainment and Kristi Coleman has been named president of the Carolina Panthers. President of business operations Tom Glick, who had been with the team since 2018, is stepping aside to pursue other opportunities. Kelly was previously the team president of Charlotte FC, and has 15 years of experience in sports and entertainment marketing. He joined the company from Anheuser-Busch InBev, where he worked as vice president of partnerships, culture and community and previously as head of U.S. sports marketing. Coleman has been with the Panthers for eight years, having worked as director of finance before becoming chief financial officer in 2019. As part of the transition, Joe LaBue becomes president of Charlotte FC. Additionally, Nicole Tepper has been named chief administrative officer of Tepper Sports and Entertainment. In her role, she will focus on growing a culture that values its people and partners, and further engrains the organization in the Carolinas community. She has played a key role with a number of philanthropic initiatives across the Carolinas on behalf of the Panthers and the David and Nicole Tepper Charitable Foundation. "Nick, Kristi, Joe, and Nicole are talented, passionate executives, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with them as we strengthen our organization and build winning teams for our fans," owner David Tepper said. "We thank Tom for his many contributions to the organization and wish him and his family the best."
Jay Gruden man you can fucking do damn near anything and the nfl will accept it and hire you if you’re an incredible talent or coach of a certain melanin
Went to Seattle in 2015 when Cam hit Olsen with 20 seconds left. Great weekend / experience, though December might be a little rougher weather than mid October. Seattle crowd was way overrated imo. Phenomenal experience shutting the entire place up splitting Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman for the win.
We of course jumped out of our seats and high fived when we scored, but did not loud mouth our way out of the stadium. My recollection is we were aware of the tension of the loss leaving the stadium and there were very few Panthers fans there for back up.
Ya prob a lot bc my uncle and aunt have PSL's. She's a far gone Trumper who now hates the NFL for political reasons. So I'll prob be at all or most of them with my uncle having a great time.
Home against Arizona in the nfc championship was one of my favorite games I’ve attended. Also the last minute win against NO in the monsoon
My in-laws got rid of their PSLs and severed all ties with the team (even moved out of Charlotte), which makes me sad. I will never forget the 2016 NFC championship that I got to be on the sidelines for. What an absolutely ass kicking.
