Who was the cake eater that thought this would be a good idea
Would’ve been better to do a sequel where they are grown up, in beer league now with some of their kids playing hockey. Combo of Letterkenny/The Tournament and put it on Netflix
This is a great idea
just stopping in say i will not be watching this film
thank you for reading this post
Oh no no no no no
Gonna be a no for me. Should have stopped after the best Mighty Ducks film of the trilogy, Mighty Ducks 2.
Man nothing is sacred anymore
can’t wait to watch it!!!
it’s called D2: the mighty ducks you bitch get it right and learn to be sensitive to other people and their feelings
I don’t believe I’ve ever gone more than four hours without saying “Greenland is full of ice and Iceland is very nice”
What’s next? A mad max reboot?!!!
so the ducks become the antagonists?
if it ain’t coach reilly i ain’t buying it
The mighty ducks brought street hockey to the neighborhood in the Southeast when I was a kid. Still remember to this day the constant yelling of CAR!! where we'd have to move the goals off the road.
Favorite aspect of D2 in retrospect is the portrayal of Iceland (a country of roughly 350,000) as the dynastic big bad while the 250M+ United States is the scrappy underdog.
It sounded cool and scary. I still think of Iceland like it’s soviet Russia.
I’m still waiting on the Gordon Bombay coaching loafer to hit stores...
That little country would kick our butts at soccer too. It wasn’t too long after the Cold War so while it was obvious who they were representing they didn’t want to literally make them Russia. Plus how else would they educate millions of Americans on the difference between Iceland and Greenland?
Trinidad and Tabago having a team is much more out of place.
The US definitely had the easier bracket at the junior goodwill games.
For real. Three of what you’d consider the big four are in the b pool.
Finland must’ve been suspended for doping
What was the state of Czechoslovakia at the time of this movie? They’re conspicuously absent as well.
Dissolved Jan 1, 1993. Movie was in 1994.
I don't know if this was meant to be a joke, but it made me laugh.
and iceland is very nice and greenland is full of ice
If they remake Cool Runnings everyone at Disney will catch these hands
Big Ducks fan here but
The indelible street hockey and goal moving scene came out two years earlier:
Look at how the US can’t qualify for the last World Cup over Costa Rica.
It’s not that hard to believe. The numbers of youth hockey players in the US is probably very small.
The fact that Trinidad and Tobago had a team... now THAT was questionable.
Edit: posted before I read The Banks post
Would love for them to do a viral style marketing campaign like The Dark Knight showing Gordon Bombay’s DUI arrest record featuring a recent one.
Dang, poor Goldberg just got arrested again:
Drugs are a hell of a drug.
I don’t think he’ll make it to see the reboot
so basically it's the same storyline as the original movie only the Ducks are the Hawks.
oh yea, my childhood is completely ruined...
when they first said that the story would be centered around a kid who got kicked off the ducks, I assumed that it was a problem kid who needed to learn the lessons of fair play and what not before earning his way back on the Ducks. To turn the Ducks into the Hawks is absolutely idiotic.
Did the Ducks even play that second season? Weren't all of their players representing their country?
The Junior Goodwill Games only take a couple weeks.
