I think we are arguing that it's mostly older generations who do this, while simultaneously saying "but not my kid though, they're going to University"
One of the cool things about college is that you can go at any time in your life. You can do a trade for a while and concurrenrly develop an interest in something and take classes for it in some way, night school or internet or whatever, before deciding how and when you would like to pursue a degree in it on your own terms. There's an attitude of education being zero-sum and it's gross as hell.
Eh. I agree with you in theory but it's still a goal for lots of people to have a family and kids and it makes it significantly harder for people financially and time management wise when those things start to happen for them.
how much does the toast cost, pre-cado? That sounds like a $6-7 piece of fucking bread with half an avocado on it (and some super cunty sounding spice blend?)
Yeah that sounds hella expensive. Must be some douchey place in Kirkwood or wherever the hell you live. Also, this whole avocado meme is because that one asshole who wrote that article a few months ago right, like I didn't miss out on some other sweeping avocado craze? I didn't eat much avocado until I met my now wife, but I figured that's because I had almost no culinary exposure in Augusta.
Definitely been a crazy for longer than a few months... I'd say at least a year maybe more It was basically the Yin to bacon's Yang
I meant bagel, but yeah. Whatever a bagel is plus 4 dollars. I had some avocado toast at brunch in SF that was like $12. Toast, avocado, evoo and some spices. Was real good but stupid expensive
Yeah everyone getting their micropenii hard a few years ago about adding bacon to everything sort of turned me off bacon for a little while.
Don't go there Shawn. I'll pay whatever it costs for a bowl of noodles and broth as long as there's succulent Chashu and a few Ajitama
That's a lot of toppings. At some point it ceases to be a hamburger and becomes the Ship of Theseus. My go-to is just lettace, mustard onion and cheese. If I'm grilling I'll throw a slice of a grilled red pepper on there.
Don't talk down to my toppings and then say you prefer a nutritionless, tasteless piece of iceberg lettuce as one of your toppings. The avocado can be spread on the bun similar to a condiment. so it's really just a bacon cheeseburger with an egg and avocado spread instead of ketchup/mustard.
When I am in the market for book purchases, I enjoy going to the local Barnes & Noble Kitchen and having some avocado toast to further enhance the experience.
Food in a restaurant cost more than when you buy it at a grocery store. Andnis more expensive in one of the top 2 most expensive cities in the US. Crazy
Appetizer during brunch. I like avocados and I like sourdough. Crazy ppl order food they like when going out to eat. Was good
There's a brunch place in Birmingham that has an avocado toast that's a top 10 food item for me. It's on brioche with an egg and this red pepper cream cheese.
I was just pitched an anti-Trump esg fund that they described as a millennial killer. Watch out fuccbois. Wall Street is going green as if that wasn't their favorite color already.
I spend an embarrassing amount. Extra pork belly, extra atijama, add Parmesan. Throw a topo Chico on top and it's like 20 bucks. So damn good though.
