Stearns got killed in this Soria trade. Giving up Medeiros for a reliever is criminal. Easily the worst deal he has ever made.
I'm not losing sleep over Medieros who could easily end up in the pen himself. He's always been young for his level but his whip has always been crappy.
In the last 8 games hes gone: 17 for 33 (.515 AVG), 5 runs, 4 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 10 RBI. .529 OBP/.939 SLG/1.469 OPS.
Just let him stay in AAA the rest of the season and hope he figures it out with a new hitting coach next season. I am completely against trading him but this season looks like a lost one for him.
I am starting to rethink Asdrubral Cabrera. His defense is so bad that it might outweigh his offense. I really hope that whatever middle infielder we get doesn't cost us any significant prospects.
Are we really going to let Burnes rot in the bullpen. Now that we have Soria and Albers close to being back we really need to put Burnes in the rotation. That is sure as hell a much better option than wasting prospects on the likes of Matt Harvey or Zack Wheeler.
I think they wanted a look to see if any progress was made before the deadline. What I saw is that any offense in CS is a product of breaking balls not biting at altitude. They would love to go back to him but if they can't they'll trade for a guy. He made good contact in the last two ab's but those first three were awful.
Cabrera is off the board. I guess it's Dozier or bust but I wouldn't pay what it would cost. Would much rather have moved Medeiros for a rental second baseman but what's done is done.
Rosenthal says we are talking to the Orioles about Schoop and Gausman. All I can say about this is stay far away. Giving up good prospects for these two stiffs makes no sense.
I hear they’re looking at giving up a couple low end prospects for Jose Altuve but I’d pass on giving up prospects for that stiff.
I feel like it wasn't that long ago Yelich was hardly over an .800 OPS and now he's getting close to .900 Edit, he is in fact over 900now
Stay hot, Corey Ray! The 23-year-old hit a grand slam for @BiloxiShuckers and now has an extra-base hit in four straight games. Rays is also the only player in @MiLB with 20+ homers (21) and 30+ stolen bases (32). No. 4 on the #Brewers Top 30
Ok someone explain this Moustakas deal to me. I think this means that Shaw is getting dealt away by the deadline which would be disappointing to say the least. They can give all the nonsense they want about Shaw playing second but he has never played the position at any level. He is way too big and not nearly athletic enough to handle the position. So say we are trading him away by the deadline. We have now downgraded at third base because Moustakas pretty much sucks and doesn't get on base. Stearns must have a plan but as of now I don't understand it at all. I realize we have no room for Phillips but I am going to miss that guy. Great personality and great defense and I hope he does well in Kansas City. Lopez was low on our list of pitchers so its fine that he is in the deal but I do think he can be a good pitcher so all the best of luck to him.

Brewers No. 22 prospect Aaron Ashby worked six scoreless innings to earn the win in his Class A Wisconsin debut. He scattered six hits, struck out six and did not issue a walk, throwing 52 of his 74 pitches for strikes in the outing. The 20-year-old lefty -- Milwaukee's fourth-round pick in June -- tossed a career-high seven innings in which he allowed two hits and struck out four in his final start with Rookie-level Helena.
According to WAR, LoCains the most valuable defensive player & overall skill player and it's not close. When you mix in pitchers, he's 4th, only behind Scherzer, deGrom and Nola.
The Mets want Ray for Wheeler. I trust Stearns not to do such a thing. I can't wait to get through the deadline with hopefully no more deals.
May need to consider swapping Peralta and Burnes' roles for the time being. You can't be at 80 pitches through 3IP only giving up 2 hits.
The Brewers starting pitching is fine if they put Burnes and maybe even Woodruff in the rotation. The national media has it all wrong.
Brewers traded for Schoop. Can you guys explain to me what we are doing. I don't even want to know what we are giving up.
