I just remember seeing one explanation for why noone saw this power coming from Judge in the minors is that many of the Yankees minor league affiliates are in very pitcher friendly leagues and I assume their affiliates are mostly on the east coast.
Braun struggled big time when he played for Brevard and he worked out just fine. Speaking of Braun both he and Villar were supposed to start their rehab assignments last night but were rained out. Villar is going to be riding the bench with Sogard being the superstar that he is but I can't wait to have Braun back.
I have watched a few of the Oregon St games to see our third round pick KJ Harrison. He looks like a really good hitter. He plays first base but we drafted him as a catcher; if he can stick as a catcher the pick looks like a good one.
Relax I will be switching it to something about Thames hitting home runs against the Reds later today.
Craig Counsell of all people is not about to bench a scrappy little player like Sogard. Counsell probably thinks he has been resurrected.
If Thames isnt getting right at GAB he's fucked. Like 60% of his stats from this year came at that park.
He hasn't been good in awhile and he can barely move in the field. I would put him on the DL or at least platoon him with Aguilar for the time being.
Chase Anderson got injured swinging so now we get Espino who gives up a HR to the first batter he faced. If Anderson is out long we are in big trouble.
This team is done. Truth is if the division wasn't awful we wouldn't be worried about contending this year. Anderson has been our best starter and we just can't afford to be without him.
We have played a very weak schedule lately and not taken advantage of it at all. The Brewers can't be losing to the Reds and other terrible teams when they are trying to show that they are legitimate contenders.
Kneble's control is so bad sometimes. 4 pitch walk to lead off the 9th with no pitch even close to the plate.
If we weren't contenders in this awful division I would sell high on Knebel. I don't know anything about the Nats minor league system other than OF prospect Victor Robles but I bet they would pay a ton for Knebel.
I think I have thrown in the towel on this team at least 10 times yet as soon as I do they start winning again. Might be time to just enjoy the ride as long as it lasts.
We are really in a good position no matter how this season turns out. The system is loaded with good prospects so we should only get better the next few seasons. We also traded all of our veterans so it's not like we are missing out on getting prospects for soon to be free agents.
Junior Guerra has to be replaced. It is not just a few bad starts; his velocity is down significantly and he is getting crushed. I think Woodruff will be back after the all star break to take one spot but I have no clue who will take the other open spot. I was hoping to see Hader in the rotation but that's not happening so maybe we should give Jungmann or Blazek a shot. Two awful choices for sure but we don't have many other options.
I just hope that Stearns doesn't give away the farm for someone like Quintana. If we really are trying to build a sustainable winner it would be a mistake to trade 3-5 good prospects for one guy.
Arcia is really coming around with the bat. He is definitely our next great player and a guy we should consider signing long term and buying out a couple of free agent years.
This winter they are doing a Brewers fantasy camp thats a special 10 year anniversary of the 2008 Brewers. I want to go so I can take Turnbow yard.
First 12 draft picks are signed and they have exhausted their draft pool $. They can push another 500k (over the $125k per pick that doesn't count) with only penalty being tax. Picks from round 14 and 19 are sticking with their college commitment. https://www.brewcrewball.com/2017/6/12/15781040/milwaukee-brewers-2017-mlb-draft-and-signing-tracker
I hate the Yankees, hate Yankees fans and hate the Bronx but I guess I have to go with the team being in first place. Not sure which games I will go to but I will probably go to 2 of the 3 games.
Wish I could go today. It is a perfect day for a game here. I take for granted the ability to go to games (they play in Chicago a bunch and Miller Park is an hour away), and never end up going.
It's also getting to the point that if the Cubs figured everything out and went on a tear like the Dodgers are on and blow by us that the second wild card isn't out of the question for us. After today we are just a couple games behind Colorado.
The Brewers are supposedly looking at Quintana and Sonny Gray. I really hope we don't make a deal like this.
