I think I am going to have to give a lot of minor league updates to counteract the major league team. I think by the middle of this season or 2019 at the latest we are going to have a very good pitching staff. A rotation of Nelson, Anderson, Davies, Burnes, Woodruff/Peralta and a bullpen with Knebel, Hader, Albers,Jeffress, Taylor Williams, Adrian Houser, Jennings, Barnes could be a really good staff. I would like to see Hader in the rotation but it looks like that ship has sailed. I am trying to be optimistic about the future because we currently suck.
Guerra was recalled to start today and Jorge Lopez is now in the bullpen. Phillips was sent back to AAA (he really needs to learn how to make more contact because I like the rest of his game especially his defense) and the Hoover was DFA'd so that nightmare is over.
I totally forgot that Lopez was even still in the organization. If nothing else this team may lead the league in transactions.
So we have what like 3 blown saves this year, but we have also won several games in the 9th so all things considered we are probably at the record we deserve right now. With the starting pitching averaging 5IP and running a 4.92 era we are lucking to be hanging around .500 and not be 3-9
Emma how many of these t-shirts have you worn through by now? https://breakingt.com/products/cheese-chain-shirt?s=recomatic
We are 7-6 with a run differential of -15. If we can just hang in there till we get our injured guys back and a few of the minor league arms like Burnes and Peralta are ready we may be able to contend. I just don't know where this team will be at that point with all of these 5 and less inning starts.
I'm going tonight and tomorrow night so hopefully they win these games. The weather is really good so I lucked out.
That Braun HR makes me feel better but this starting pitching continues to suck. Only down 6-4 so maybe we aren't out of it yet.
I am trying my best not to go too crazy but this team sucks right now especially with the injuries. Still no excuse to lose to the reds.
Derek Johnson does everything he can with these garbage starting pitchers but has any position player improved under Coles. Arcia in particular is too talented to look this awful. Fire Coles.
We need some starting pitching with swing and miss stuff. I think we have that coming with Woodruff, Burnes, and Peralta but in the meantime we just aren't good enough with Suter, Guerra, and Chacin.
Three guys in the starting lineup tonight are hitting below .200. I know its early but this offense has been beyond awful.
Counsell should have let Guerra finish the 6th inning. Even when the starter pitches well this guy just has to go to the bullpen early.
I can't defend the way Braun has played but have you looked at the rest of the lineup. Other than Thames everyone else has been terrible.
Corey Ray batting .351/.383/.614 with 6 2b, 3 3b, 1 HR and 5 SB Luis Ortiz has a good statline at AA as well
Bill Rott 9:25 What are the chances that Junior Guerra recaptured some 2016 magic? Jeff Sullivan 9:25 His velocity is up, so if that's for real, that's reason enough to believe he could stick at the back end of the rotation 9:26 Four-seamer lost almost two ticks last season. It's already back up by 1.2
The national media dopes keep saying that we need another starting pitcher when the truth is we need another bat at either second or catcher if Pina shows that last season was a fluke. I am hoping that Pina plays better or Nottingham forces his way into the lineup.
