    Peralta isn't a starter

Shaw isn't a second baseman, Thames isn't an outfielder, and Schoop isn't a baseball player. As for Peralta I like him but he isn't ready to be trusted yet and these slow starts every time out are killing us.

I think it's time to start questioning Stearns. Not only did he not improve the team at the deadline but he clearly made the team worse. Our defense which was the strength of the team along with the bullpen has gone from one of the best in baseball to pretty terrible.

Shaw and Thames have both lost us games on defense since the deadline and the possible uptick offensively just hasn't been worth it.

I can't even remember hating a player as much as I despise Schoop. I know we paid a hefty price to get him but I don't want him back next year especially for 8-10 million when he sucks.

At this point just play Arcia every day even if he doesn't hit. This pitching staff needs all the help it can get defensively and that means playing our gold glove caliber shortstop every day.

Statically speaking, the team is pretty good at pitching and pretty bad at hitting

We have a small number of playoff quality hitters

And a much larger number of mid quality roster fillers

Latter has to step up or be replaced

The pitching was propped up by exceptional defense which we don't have any more with the likes of Shaw at second and Thames in right field. Stearns completely fucked this team up with his deadline moves.

Corbin Burnes should be in the rotation not pitching mop up innings in a 6-2 deficit. Just one of many Stearns screw ups since the beginning of the season.

Yeah I know that Burnes has struggled lately but that's because he isn't a reliever.

How much better off would the Brewers have been getting Murphy to play second along with Shaw at third vs trading a bunch of prospects for Moustakas (who has been pretty good) and Schoop who is the worst player to ever wear a Brewers uniform. Stearns completely butchered the trade deadline.

When this team doesn't make the playoffs all of the blame goes to Stearns for his in season moves. His trades turned our defense from possibly the best in the league to well below average. We have now blown big leads to the Padres and Reds in the last few weeks and a big culprit is awful defense led tonight by Moustakas who embarrassed himself in the 4th inning.

That's was one of the dumbest, unlucky innings in baseball history

Yeah it was definitely unlucky with all the infield hits but Moustakas had two errors and Kratz had a passed ball. The defense was ruined by Stearns in season moves. He had a great offseason with the Cain and Yelich moves but his moves during the season have pretty much all backfired.

This game and the two we blew vs San Diego are why we won't make the playoffs. I would almost rather lose 90 games and get a high draft pick than watch this team choke in August and September every year.

I know you guys were waiting for me to turn on Stearns and that day has arrived. When we miss the playoffs the blame all goes to Stearns. He did pretty much nothing to help the pitching staff and killed our team defense by making Shaw a second baseman, playing Schoop at shortstop and playing Thames in RF.

This GM was doing nearly everything right and then all of a sudden he became Doug Melvin at the deadline. No I don't want him fired but I have lost a lot of confidence in him after his disastrous job at the deadline which not only didn't make us better it flat out made us worse.

I have questioned how he has handled this pitching all year. Why was Burnes as well as Woodruff never given a chance at being in the rotation. Why have we continued to trot out the likes of Miley and Guerra instead of giving Burnes in particular a shot.

This was a Doug Melvin type of deadline. You just know he would love Schoop who other than slugging does nothing well. We went from getting players like Yelich and Cain who do everything well to picking up trash like Schoop and moving Shaw to a position that he has never played.

Stearns did exactly what you wanted, small moves and no pitching.

You even defended the Schoop deal.

I only defended the Schoop deal because I get criticized every time I don't like a Brewers move. If the only two choices were small moves or giving up a ton for Archer I prefer what we did but Gausman probably could have been had for what we gave up for Schoop and several relief pitchers went cheap.

We should have traded for a guy like Dozier who didn't go for much and not made the moves for Moustakas and Schoop. Playing Shaw at second has been a complete mess that could have and should have been avoided.

Have you been watching Braun lately because he has been our second best hitter besides Yelich the last month or so. The blame goes to the pitching and the umps who totally screwed up that call to Lorenzen who was clearly trying to bunt.

Nice to pull that one off. There isn't a team in the race that needs the expanded rosters more than we do. At this point we can't count on any of our pitchers due to either sucking or extreme overuse.

Bounce back day for the pen. Good to see, especially Hader.

And has Wade been our best SP? Or Chacin?

Miley is probably the starter I trust most in a wild card game.

If it's a wild card game try to go some combo of Miley, Burnes, Hader

We are using Hader, Burnes, Knebel, Soria, and Jeffress in a game we are up 5 runs. I get that the Pirates have had our number but that seems a bit extreme.
