Rosario HR on first MLB pitch. Fucking rad. Family in the stands going crazy...that's sports dreams come true. Pretty amazing.
How wild does a pitching staff have to be to walk Santana & Escobar in the same series. 125 and 123 plate appearances, respectively, without taking a walk before being walked by the A's.
I was happy Torii was coming back, but skeptical about what he'd produce. Pretty good deal for the Twins since he's unlikely to be called out for the remainder of the year.
That too but I primarily meant winning at Detroit. Coming in to last night's game we were 0-4 and had been outscored 2-24.
I was feeding my kid and missed it. I didn't turn the game on until the top of the 3rd inning. Good timing IYAM.
anybody have an idea when sano and buxton will get their shots? i assume sano will be earlier due to baseball being complicated as fuck.
My guess is September unless someone gets injured. Plouffe has to be the team MVP so far and for now Hicks looks like he is going to get at least one last shot.
I was fishing with Gene Glynn this winter and asked him this same question. He said the chance is slim that they get a shot before September call ups. There's just too much development that needs to be done at those stages and bringing them up too early can be bad. Of course, that was in January before anyone knew how well they'd do. Things may have changed a bit, but there's still a lot of development that they need. There's a world of difference between a great 2A player and an average big leaguer.
thanks, i'm not one of those guys that is clamoring for them to be called up, just curious. i think we finally have a team we can get excited about the next couple years.
I haven't watched or listened to any of today's game but it is currently 13-1....Cabrera is having a field day with the pitching staff...
Good timing. I'm a total Mauer rube, I have to admit it. Really hoping he can string together one of those crazy runs like back in the day. I spose I should just be happy if he gets to .300 at this point.
Did anybody else see who is listed ahead of the Tigers in the standings? CENTRAL Kansas City Royals 28-15 .651 - Minnesota Twins 25-18 .581 3 Detroit Tigers 26-19 .578 3 Cleveland Indians 20-23 .465 8 Chicago White Sox 19-22 .463 8
:sadpanda: honestly I haven't watched much baseball this season. I'm watching way more playoff bball than I normally do
The three best records in the AL right now belong to 1) Kansas City .636 2) Houston Astros .630 and 3) Minnesota Twins .591. Who had that in March?
THERE"S A MONKEY PEEING ON THE BASEBALL TEAM IN THIS THREAD! I've been so impressed with the lineup management. Seems the first time in a long time, if you're not performing, you'll get the hook--fast. I've always pulled for Danny Santana, but not only has he been benched, but I'm thinking he'll get sent down soon. I also love the Plouffe has really been stepping up. He's gotta know Sano is "the future" but he sure is playing like "the present." Not to mention I saw a bit about how Byron Buxton has 11 triples on the year and the Twins have 9. It was hard not to think that this year would be a year of slight improvement, but mostly just waiting to see BB and Sano. Now, with the Twins winning, seeing Buxton doing so well is like icing on the cake. Hoping we see him this year and he provides even more of a jolt, rather than calling him up just because, well why not. On the other hand, the word is that Mauer's hurt again. Great. Grand. Wonderful.
Never thought id see the twins in 1st this yr. been great going to games that we have a good chance to win
And without a single guy in the lineup batting over .280. EDIT: There are two batters whom are over .300 and they have 40 AB's between them. One of them is Pelfrey, who's batting 1.000.
That Bluejays game yesterday afternoon was awesome. Dozier is terrific. Torii is rad. Even if they flame out later in the season, it sure has been fun so far.
9-4 vs East, 16-15 vs. Central, 5-2 vs West...this is not the Twins recipe for winning the division that I am accustomed to.
not down, we are still getting solid pitching for the most part, just need the bats to heat up again.
True, true. The bats have never been very "hot", though, with the exception of a few games. They've just been warm at the right time with RISP. Small ball at it's finest.
It looks like the Twins decided the future starts in 2015. Sano is getting the call. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2...ng-up-top-prospect-miguel-sano-for-mlb-debut/
Happy to see Erv. Not happy seeing May demoted in lieu of Pelf, though. Is it because of Pelf being a little bitch in the spring?
