This is the first female lead that they have gotten to return. I find that interesting for some reason.
Not sure if Rogue Nation was one of the last two but I watched that movie last week and I was blown away. It was incredible.
I didn’t like the first one. The second one was bad. 3, 4, & 5 have been good action movies. Looking forward to seeing 6
I've seen the preview for this about 37 times thanks to Moviepass but I'm still looking forward to it. Tom Cruise learned how to fly a helicopter for this.
these movies have never blown me away the first time I've seen them (maybe the first one), but all of them are movies I can watch repeatedly and enjoy every time.
This has turned into a great franchise. That said, the second Mission Impossible is actually kinda hard to watch now.
agree. MI still holds up really well. and MI3-5 are all great. MI2 is only enjoyable in a time capsule way.
I have rewatched all the last couple weeks in prep for the new one. 2 is a really tough watch, but that is more how it is directed. Slow motion, doves, random long close ups on faces.
MI:2 was the one about the disease (and maybe with the Limp Bizkit theme song), right? Why does everyone think it’s terrible? Non-argumentative question, I just don’t remember it very well. In fact, I can only remember four at all, will have to Google which one I forgot.
The first one was horrible. I don't really remember any of the recent ones, I should watch again. Do they stream anywhere?
Nay nay. That’s Metallica’s theme song “I Disappear”. The 3rd one is about the disease I believe. The 2nd one has the motorcycle “duel”.
Also 1 is great because of John Voight. 2 is forgettable and as said is John Woo in his element. Richard Roxburgh is a poor man’s Sean Bean. 3 is awesome because of Phillip Seymour Hoffman. He is an awesome villain. 4 and 5 were just epic. Can’t wait.
PSH was terrific in MI:3. The movie itself might not have been good as 4 and definitely not as good as 5, but PSH was dark and cold blooded as hell.
1 is really good; it's just mostly a thriller instead of an action movie like 2-5 are. the train/helicopter and floppy disc scenes define the movie but the rest of it is a typical spy games movie.
Nah the John Woo MI:2 is about the chimera disease as the Mcguffin and had Thandie Newton in it. The 3rd movie was directed by JJ Abrams and had Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the villain.
3 had the explosive charges in the head. I like that the last 2 haven't had big reveals about IMF people double crossing them. They've kind of played off that expectation after it was such a huge part of the first 3, but went in other directions. I kind of hope that continues moving forward because forcing that stuff is how you get the shitty seasons of 24.
all i really remember about 3 is that keri russell was in it for like three minutes and i think jj abrams directed it 4 and 5 were both just really solid adventure films. tom cruise is one of the most consistently entertaining actors in hollywood. not that all of his films are gems, but i really can't think of any recent ones that weren't at least fun to watch except maybe jack reacher 2
Jack Reacher and Jack Ryan two movie series that have so much potential but are struggling to get off the ground.
yeah it was poop i'm hoping the Halpert version is solid, amazon usually turns out some good products so i'm optimistic
The reviews are pretty damn good. 93% on RT after 50+ reviews, and most of those positive reviews are giving it A grades and 4 or 5 stars.
