No not at all, just was pointing out that there was a summary of what some of the top players make. 238,000 and 115,000 for two guys from my hometown

Holy shit rookie contracts are low. Estrada only makes 40,000 for Sounders and was one of the top draft picks. Kyle Beckerman makes 250,000 more than he should.
Depends on the player. #2 pick from last year makes $105,000. Another guy that was early first round pick 3 years ago starting off making in the 20s now makes 40K.
The guys making the 40k are the guys that signed for the league minimum and most likely signed with the league after the draft. The rookies making more signed pre contracts with the MLS and some are Generation Adidas contract guys that came out early and therefor can command a higher salary.
Makes sense. The guy making 105K was a finalist for the Hermann Award and was on the 2009 Gold Cup Squad, but stayed for his SR year at Wake. The guy making 40K is a JAG, but was a 1st Round pick after his SR year at Wake.
