It was ugly as shit, but since we literally were 0-17 in terms of getting 3 points last year on the road I will take it and run. Jake with a fucking man's play on that last save.
So, those Portland dives yesterday? Galaxy responded via twitter with a video. Timbers responded back with "60% of stadium full and 'we have video guys, too. Stay tuned...'" Going to be lots of potential responses, de Jong being obvious #1 but I can think of a ton of others. TBH, this is great for sport, especially in our social media world. :allthepopcorn:
I worked directly under the guy that will be responsible to make a comeback to this (likely?). I don't envy him because he will probably agree it's a funny tweet. He also is probably wondering why he has to make some shit to shit on another squad. Would have enjoyed to be in my old office for this today.
I guess BWP got permanent US residency or some shit, because he doesn't count as an international anymore
So Acosta is on fire to start the year. FCD with that first leg win over Pachuca. Hate they got an away goal though.
Almost forgot to post the DirtBall top 5 power rankings: 1) FCD. Write them in this spot with a sharpie. Showed their depth on Sat and class on Wed. 2) PTFC. Ugly win but 1000% prettier than any of last years road wins. 3) TFC. Early season hiccups? Attack hasn't looked fluid. Might be time to start dropping them. 4) NYRB. Still not happy with the formation but the results speak for themselves. Will jump TFC soon. 5) Hou. Disgusting. The results are the results but they'll crash sooner rather than later.
I think the cool thing about being in on MLS early (and I realize I'm not early compared to the originals) is that it feels like this cool club for those that pay attention now. I seriously am going to humble brag like crazy 15 years from now when it's a huge fucking deal and I say, 'yea I was at this game back in the day.'
I remember being at the 05 all star game in Columbus when Bowling for Soup played at halftime and the all stars beat Fulham. Twellman won MVP and former Crew player Jeff Cunningham (was with Colorado at the time) scored twice and jumped into the stands and sat down with his arm around some girl in the crowd for his 2nd one. Was an awesome time
Jesus fucking Christ. Clear pk on Dwyer a minute in that doesn't get called. Second time in two games. So sick of this shit.
How in the fucking world do they allow this piece of shit cunt faced Marrufo to ref Sporing games? God damnit this is infuriating.
Bennys shot was fucking filthy You're putting the point up on that in any league. Funny our 2nd goal was complete garbage lol
DirtBall is classic during sporting matches. Love checking here and see the meltdown followed by moments of happiness
I said the same thing. He won't show up on stat sheet (deep analytics he will) but he controlled pace between the thirds. His breaks should have netted at least another goal. Easily his best performance of year and the kind of one the national team would love. This team is scary offensively. Loving it. Gleason looks really comfortable in goal as well. Not much he could do on both tonight, even penalty kick he read just was placed perfect.
They said going into today's debacle he's faced 2 shots on goal and allowed 2 goals. 0 saves on the year. He misplayed Benny's goal, commited the own goal, scoffed a couple other attempts. Just awful all around.
Just a tasting of the ridiculousness that is Marrufo and SKC. Tonight was only the second time in the last 14 matches he's had that Sporting has won. He literally gets "reprimanded" from PRO after every match. No clue what his deal is with Sporting but it's laughably biased every fucking time. Since 2011 Sporting had averaged 1.6 ppm, with that fuck officiating it's .58. His dad was a crooked as fuck concacaf official for years and years as well. https://www.google.com/amp/s/kansas...olumns-blogs/the-full-90/article74237777.html
I feel a similar way thinking about Christian Pulisic's potential. If he ever becomes a major/key star at one of the big clubs or plays a crucial role in taking the national team to the next level then we could all be witnessing the prime years of the guy who finally makes soccer a big deal in this country. I'm going to be so smuggy as an old man telling stories about him if that happens.
