He's an exciting prospect for the US. Any worries of losing him to Europe? I haven't paid any attention
There was talk about him being scouted heavily when he was with the youth teams. Most Red Bull fans see it as inevitable.
https://www.mlssoccer.com/series/24-under-24/2017 Pretty nice list. Savarino and Glad need some more love. Morris overrated.
Big 3 points tonight means Crew locked up playoff spot if Montreal drop any points tonight (currently tied 1-1) and have them sitting good for 5th at worst. Will be tough to overtake Chicago and especially Atlanta but will hope to get into a spot for hosting 1st round
The shield is clinched and with 2 games to go they are 3 points from matching the all time points record. Is TFC the greatest MLS side ever? If they bring home the cup or the concacaf cup I'm open to the idea.
Yep! Them and that D.C. team in the late 80s that won (I think) back to back MLS cups an open cup and the concacaf cup and the Americas cup or whatever its called would be my 3 finalists.
This was a "decent" ball and flick for the goal yesterday. I was sitting with my 3 year old and there was another dad with his probably 6 year old next to us and I dropped an "holyyyy fuckkk" when it happened.
I was close. Late 90s, only a decade off. It was actually more impressive than I thought. 96,97,99 MLS cups. 97,99 supporter shields. 96 open cup. 98 concacaf cup. 98 Interamerica cup. 8 trophies in 4 years. Crazy.
Expect Detroit to have an MLS team by 2020. A land swap was completed today that is going to lead the way to Dan Gilbert acquiring a bunch of downtown land that he has proposed building a state of the art soccer stadium on. I believe he is jointly put in a bid with Tom Gores. That's two wealthy guys putting in a bid with a fancy MLS only stadium attached, I'd expect it to happen. For those who don't know Gilbert is Cavs owner and runs quicken loans and owns a ton of property in Detroit, Gore's is owner of the pistons. Edit to add link http://www.freep.com/story/news/loc...-motors-ddot-gilbert-jail-proposal/688929001/
Also to add to previous post, Gore's and Gilbert just got a trademark on motor city soccer club http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sp...e-trademark-motor-city-soccer-club/106326990/
First of all, Fuck Ohio. Second of all, I don't think Gilbert and Gores proposed team has any affiliation with Detroit City FC, which is why they will go by Motor City Soccer Club apparently.
If you'd ended with a Thirdly or lastly "Fuck Ohio" you'd get a like But based on your post I'm now a supporter of them getting the team 1) because I'm a Cavs fan so good for Gilbert and 2) because it'll make Detroit FC die so fuck them
Both races are pretty tight Toronto locked up top spot NYCFC 56 +13 Chicago 55 +17 Atlanta 54 +30 Columbus 53 +4 NYRB will be 6th. West going into todays matches. Vancouver 51 +2 SKC 48 +12 Portland 47 +5 Seattle 47 +6 Houston 46 +9 FC Dallas 43 0 Real Salt Lake 42 -6 San Jose 42 -22 Real Salt Lake down 0-1. Portland up 1-0. Seattle up 1-0 on Dallas. SKC tied. Vancouver up 1-0 on San Jose.
Next weeks schedule: Toronto at Atlanta NYRB at DC United LA Galaxy at FC Dallas Chicago at Houston New England at Montreal Columbus at NYCFC Orlando City at Philadelphia Vancouver at Portland SKC at Real Salt Lake Minnesota at San Jose Colorado at Seattle
Hoping for Columbus to leap up and get a home match but not confident. I’d rather play at Chicago than Atlanta though so TFC resting guys wouldn’t upset me
They've been saying for months now that 70 points and the all time record is their goal and that they wouldn't take a single match off. It'd be pretty dumb not to rest everyone.
It's going to be weird to watch Sporting get knocked out in the first round AT HOME this year. I wonder if the team that beats them still automatically gets the cup?
This is tough. Technically, they should of stopped the play because Birnbaum is knocked out cold and needs medical attention but is any ref going to blow that dead right there?
Portland and Seattle tied at 50 points and Seattle has GD advantage. Why is Portland currently listed at 2 with Seattle 3?
Apparently total number of wins is above GD on the tiebreaker list and Portland has 14 to Seattle’s 13
