Non Crew bitching but it sounds like Atlanta is getting the 2018 All Star game. Congrats #Atlanta United http://www.ajc.com/sports/atlanta-will-host-2018-mls-all-star-game/C4tFQtYpKUtzckpSfdeZ0H/
Would recommend this for anyone interested in the blueprint for the future of the league, guy's concepts on being a selling league, style of play, roster construction, and fan/audience targeting. also a great listen for any Tottenham supporters, lots of Spurs talk and their dealings with MLS.
I sent an email the morning after, got a call same day and VM just asking for a call back. Called and left a message outside of their hours saying I can’t really talk during the day and email works better. 2 days later I haven’t heard anything else I’ve decided I wouldn’t cancel anyway. If they’re going to steal my team, they’re going to do it with me there at all the games, singing as loud as I can, clapping as hard as I can and giving them all I have. I won’t give up on the Crew even if Anthony Precourt has. I want people to see Crew games and say “Why would they want to leave these fans”
Don't say that. Sacramento Kings looked like goners at one point so did the Pittsburgh Penguins but looked what happened. I did my part today, I emailed every Ohio Senator that represents Franklin Co. as well as the county commissioners.
I’ll try to tone it down some as decision day and playoffs start but it’s all very fresh and this is my safe place but if I need to tone it down just tell me (and then go fuck yourself)
Scrolling thru twitter and a tweet from Wu showed up because Crew fans were liking and retweeting it. Loving the stuff from NittanyKnight also. Love you guys
I’m sure, beyond all the other fucking terrible reasons, the MLS players are just fucking thrilled to add another game in the sun/humidity of fucking Texas to their schedules.
he always deletes his tweets. i wouldn't read into the deletion as he's had second thoughts or he was silenced or anything.
Also saw on twitter there’s a SaveTheCrew rally being planned on Sunday at 11AM. #Portland Timbers love you guys
One last #SaveTHEcrew post before decision day gets underway. From twitter rumblings it looks like 2/3rds ownership vote has to pass to allow *Precourt to be a dick, from everything out there is sounds like he won't have anywhere close to the votes needed. BUT, Garber has 'veto' power and can allow the move to happen if he wants it to. What's worrisome. 1 Garbers a dick. And 2, it looks like all those MLSATX websites and twitter handles were made right before the Crew opened the bank for Pedro Santos. They sign a big time player so they have someone to market in a new city. What I feel will swing the owners vote is 2 fold. 1, this is an awful prescient. Lets say Nashville wants a franchise but doesn't get selected or doesn't want to pay the franchise fee. Someone could go buy Colorado for $120 million, move them to Nashville, avoid the expansion team fee (currently $150 mill but going up) and have a "full roster" to start their expansion team with. 2, the owners get a share of revenue and as I mentioned earlier San Antonio was a leader for an expansion side. The owners want their part of that $150 mill expansion fee and won't be happy with San Antonio losing that spot and that fee.
Decision day should be fun as the West title is up for grabs with Vancouver at Portland. Last West playoff spot is a 3 team battle with RSL, San Jose and FCD.
This isn’t that long and is really worth a read https://www.massivereport.com/2017/10/21/16513354/commitment-lessons-from-lamar-hunt-and-the-crew
Really want to go to the rally tomorrow but I have a game of my own at 1:30 and rally is 12-3 Rally is more important but unlike Anthony Precourt I have an issue with breaking commitments
Portland and NYCFC checking in too (Pretty cool to see the NYCFC fans join in with the Crew fans when we play them today) And whilIe not MLS, a team has come out in support
I meant in Columbus as a response to the potential move but I’m terrified to play away to you guys in the first round so I expect it to be insane there also
Philly checking in It’s gonna get emotional seeing all this support from around the league. This really is something special. Soccer fans are amazing. It’s such a great community. Don’t remember fans of other NBA teams coming out like this for any of the teams that have been relocated or for the Kings when it was in danger
Also, not that I believe it would happen but if we win today, we would have more points than anyone in the West and be guaranteed to host if we could make the final. I can’t even tell you guys how bad I want that. Garber to have to come to a sold out Mapfre for the MLS Cup. Oh baby.
