looks like the owners are using the media to pressure again with a leaked memo preparing the clubs for a potential lockout fun
Jokes on DonG, once I finish making billions off meme stonks I’ll just buy the whole damn league and end this dumb deal.
think my favorite part about this memo that undoubtedly *was not* supposed to be seen by the public was how they tossed in that they'd still pay for the players' healthcare "even though they wouldn't have to" they are the benevolent few
Have Duncan, bring in RB Egbo in the summer, now bring in this guy, Hans Struber going with the USMNT All-RB system.
:eyeroll: what a loser. His 1 season with SKC was one of the worst in MLS history. His G/A - xG/A was historically bad. Funny enough, #2 that year Salloi, #3 that year Dom.
Great hire. Top 5 MLS keeper of all time. 4th best KC keeper of all time as well (probably more impressive than MLS top 5).
Nah, his shitheel agent is claiming that he wasn't sufficiently informed by the team exercising the club option in his contract and then just bounced and signed in SA.
so Philly let their fans design the new secondary kits, nice to see something in this league that isn't wholly generic
Paid for my PSL’s for Charlotte FC today. Me and 4 others have a block of 12 together. Mint City Teppers, coming for that belt 2022.
Fuck this so much. I’m flying up to Portland to burn that Adidas HQ to the ground. This triggers me so bad. “Adidas will not execute input 1:1 based off of the images you provide,” the brief reads. “Adidas has the lead in providing design ideas and the club makes the final decision between the provided options.”
One of our writers did interviews with Josh Williams and has posted them the last 3 days. I love Josh so these have been awesome https://sirkbook.com/2021/01/29/through-joshs-eyes-introduction/ https://sirkbook.com/2021/02/01/through-joshs-eyes-the-lead-up-to-mls-cup-2020/ https://sirkbook.com/2021/02/02/through-joshs-eyes-the-game/ https://sirkbook.com/2021/02/03/through-joshs-eyes-the-celebration/
This quote from post match heading to the Nordecke just has me feeling things. Fucking love this guy “I saw a million people there, Steve,” he assured me. “I saw a million people in the corner. It was in that moment that it really hit. I hoped in that moment that everybody who would normally be there, and everybody who was there in the past, and everybody who will be at the new stadium, that was the moment that I felt so much pride in what we accomplished. And I don’t mean ‘we’ just in the sense of the players or coaches or front office, but ‘we’ in the sense of the #SaveTheCrew movement. That moment in the corner is something I will never forget because that moment linked to the fan in me. That moment was like, ‘Okay, I did this as a player, but for the fan in me, this is a surreal moment for that kid.’
Sorry to be apathetic about the lockout, but this shit couldn't even win USL. As a union guy tho, they should put an inflatable rat outside every stadium, team office, outside Adidas US hq, outside every majority owner's offices. Should be pressing the celebrity "owners" like Durant, Harden, and Nash about how they feel about the treatment of the players.
Listened to some podcast with people far more knowledgable than I am on the subject and they basically explained it as the owners unfortunately having all of the leverage, and the players really don't have any choice but to agree to their demands, whether that's by tomorrow or a couple months down the road when a large number of them are hurting for a paycheck. For the time being the owners seem to be more than happy to not operate without ticket revenue.
Why in the world would shit ass FCC spend $15+ million for a Brazilian 20 year old? They could spend 1/4 of that and make themselves into a real team. Why would a Brazilian “wonder kid” go to FCC instead of other offers (Arsenal, PSG, Juvi, Milan, Lazio)?
How exactly could they spend $3-4 million and “make themselves into a real team”? Not my money so I don’t care how much they pay. Just glad they’re making a signing after doing pretty much nothing this off-season.
Do you even MLS bruh? $4 million plus GAM on roster spots 4-10 easily takes a perennial wooden spoon finalist (FCC) into a mediocre playoff team (Nashville).
