It’s a bit sketch in that it’s a referendum to temporarily change the law to where it would technically be a one-time no bid contract but this isn’t a Marlins situation where taxpayers are putting up money and the group is agreeing to a lot of taxpayer friendly demands. Really the municipality has all the leverage since Beckham and Co. need to have this done by Oct 2019. Ultimately I think the voters still have the marlins “deal” lingering in their minds and I can’t say I blame them.
It really is amazing how the Atlanta front office seemingly single-handedly pushed everyone in MLS to start signing South American youth. So great for the league and long overdue.
It was a tongue-in-cheek post right after someone had asked him about his hate boner. Didn't you find it a little too coincidental for someone to make that kind of post right after the why the hate thing got brought up? Don't take the piss just cause your hate boner made you miss a joke.
Everyone knows the MLS was formed the day that Seattle joined the league, only to disband and reform when Atlanta joined years later.
LAFC v Houston Philly v Chi If they play that semi at an empty awful Houston stadium instead of a sold out LA stadium I’ll flip.
And last night Dio tweeted that he flipped out at the end of the game because a Timbers player was dropping n bombs his way. Some interesting twists with this thing.
FCC MLS ticket prices for next year. Looks like they're smartly going to do three small increases over the next three years instead of one big one. Year 1 in MLS, year 2 in MLS then year 3 is in the new stadium.
Looks like Mark-Anthony Kaye might not have a green card. But he’s not listed as an international on LAFCs roster. And I’m pretty sure Canadians are counted as internationals for MLS’ rules.
OK, NYT article had some info. So Kaye is considered a domestic player (even though Canadians are considered foreign for the US based teams) for LAFC because he came trough TFCs academy and is a home grown player. I guess he’s in a category known as “domestic homegrown” so any home grown player is considered domestic even if they jump the border. Sounds like LAFC and USSF didn’t understand the classification difference. I’m guessing whoever checks the roster for USSF saw he was listed as domestic for MLS and assumed he must of had a green card which both consider a domestic player.
Guess they didn’t like people falling asleep in the stands even though they won 3-1 in the grand opening:
This will surely break the MLS all time transfer fee but the question is by how much? He was the only reason to watch whitecap games, was hoping he’d stay here till he turned 18.
Really surprised they’re starting Rooney second game in on turf. Atl probably needed help selling tickets so DC decided to do them a solid imo.
