Wow. Seattle the only MLS team shitty enough to have to go to PKs to advance: What a pathetic franchise.
Frei has always been a hardcore bitch. Can’t secure the win at home with the advantage. Pathetic as fuck.
Did the players have to return to their home countries? Sounds like this dude is just chillin in the Netherlands right now. They signed him like 4 weeks ago.
Do they count as homegrown if you draft them after 4 years of college and immediately insert them into the starting roster? Asking for a friend
It was a busy offseason. Lots of money spent, lots of new players. It took my scouting network longer than normal to report back to me but I think it’s time. Get ready for user Dirt’s completely UNBIASED and one thousand percent ACCURATE season predictions: Gotta start with the best: 1) LAFC. Greatest regular season in MLS history and they’re running it back. Winning in CCL made me pause, as did the Zimmerman trade. They’re depth is pretty much the Conmebol U23 all star team so I think they’ll be fine. As dominant as last year? Doubtful because a lot of other teams got a lot better. 2) LA Galaxy. Big riser and it’s not because Hernandez. Pavon is going to go off this year. He never got his feet under him and had the Zlatan factor last year. Katai will hold his own on the other wing. MF is solid. I’m putting faith they can solve some backline issues, if they can’t they’ll be traveling in the playoffs. 3) Sporting KC. Was the number 3 team in xGf-xGa in that disastrous season last year. They spent the money and brought in a league superstar....his name is Gadi Kinda. At some point they’ll run a MF trio of Kinda, Busio, Gutierrez and it will indeed fuck. Pulido will add more with his work rate, pressing, and passing than his finishing. Big issue is the back line. Don’t sleep on Reid and Lindsey locking that down though. 4) Seattle Flounders. Thought about bumping them up since they crashed out of CCL. They just don’t put in a 34 game effort and that drops them. Joao Paulo will pair really well with Lodiero. Im not sold on the physicality of the back line at all. 5) Portland Timbers. I’m here for another Portland @ Seattle playoff upset. They’ve got good options at 9 and the Chara twins should be electric. Worry about Diego and Blancos legs and if those legs slow do they have another way to win? 6) Minn Loons. Could they host a post season game again? Yes. But Ike and Alonso are a year older and if either misses significant time I don’t see it ending well. 7) USYNT. I loved the fire they showed in that playoff match at Seattle. They’re going to miss quite a crew due to Olympic qualifying and the games (if they happen). Will be a fun team to follow. 8) RSL. No Rimando, no Savereno, no playoffs. They’ll be in the hunt because they always are but I don’t see them getting above the line. 9) Colorado. Younes Namli. Write it down. If it wasn’t for this crazy offseason he’d be a shoe in for newcomer of the year. Their defense will be good. Can Kei add enough fire power to Namli to get them above the line? I’m just not seeing it. 10) San Jose. Didn’t really do much for me this offseason. The league has a year of film on Almeyda and I still don’t see him having the horses to make that marking work. They’ll look good for a bit but I see their legs failing them again this year down the stretch. 11) Houston. When you see Minotas, Elis, Quintero, Boniak, Memo you think they’d be dynamic and top of the conference. Problem is I don’t think any of their 4 best attackers want to play there and I’ve never been a fan of Tab. Also they have no fans so fuck em. 12) Vancouver. The Korean thing is cool. Adnan and Cavallini are really good. There is just not a complete team here. They need a couple more offseasons. Unfortunately I doubt my boy MDS makes it that long. 13) Nashville. They saw Minn and FCC’s first years and built a team that wouldn’t get embarrassed. I doubt they give up more than 2 goals a game. I also doubt they score more than 0 goals a game as well. LEASTENERS: 1). NJCFC. 1-30 they may be the most talented roster in the league. Heber will be a legit golden boot/MVP candidate. He looked special in the 2 CCL matches and IIRC, when he played last year they scored more ppg than LAFC. Somewhat concerned if Deila can win over the locker room but him throwing haymakers at opposing players in the CCL tells me he’ll be fine. 2) Columbus. Glory will return to Columbus this year. MLS cup dark horse. Zelarayan is so good. Nagbe will Nagbe. Gyasinho could put up 20 but Adi will take his spot (who FCC is paying to play for CC because they have no idea what they’re doing). Don’t sleep on Diaz, he’s electric and Valenzuela could easily be MLS’ best LB by mid year. Would put money on them but I will never trust Porterball. 3) Atlanta. The front 3 will score goals and win games. I’m interested to see what happens during Copa America though. They’re trying to replace too much of the squad in 1 offseason and Da Bore Ball makes me want to gouge my eyes out to go any higher. 4) TFC. If you promised me Jozy will play 2200+ minutes they’d be #1. Baby Piatti will pull defenders from the center and Pozuelo will have more room to dominate. If he has someone (Jozy) to finish the chances he creates he’ll be MVP. 5) NE Revs. Dark horse shield winners right here. Gil-Bou-Buksa will be so good. I worry about the back and if Turner can stand on his head again. If so these guys will surprise a lot of people. 6) DCU. Arriola injury sucks. Orejas, Asad, and Gressel will give great service to Ola who we know can put those away. They were one of if not the best defensive team in the league last year. Lacking the depth to put much higher though. 7) Inter Miami. There’s still 1 DP slot and I think they will make a splash this summer. Pizarro is a stud and will dominate. They have a lot of solid pieces and a great keeper in Robles. They could tank if they don’t add that third DP and Carranza can’t get fit. Don’t see how you bet against McDonough from getting it done. 8) Philly Union. DOOP DOOP DOOP. From third to missing the playoffs. Their offseason didn’t impress me. I hate betting against a strategy of “stall till the 65th so Ilsinho can win it for us” though. 9) RBNJ. You guys know you can add players in the offseason right? 10) Chicago. They actually had a really good xGf-xGa last year. Beria and Gimenez should be good starters. They just don’t have the horses to fully compete. 11) Orlando. I really want to see these guys host a playoff match. Unfortunately you need good players to do that. They don’t have enough of them. 12) FCC. They’re a train wreck. They have a passenger named Locadia though. Kubo and De Jong are really good as well. But even if Locadia (if he returns to America) puts in a 20g/5a performance there’s not enough there to sniff the playoffs. 13) Montreal. Oh Thierry. The bus is parked in Montreal. Bojan will not be able to go 1v4 all year. Can’t see myself watching them at all. PLAYOFFS: Seattle Over LAFC NYCFC Over TFC MLS Cup Champs: NYCFC OPEN CUP: YOUR Sporting KC Wiz over the comeback Columbus Crew SHIELD: LAFC (Could see someone from the East top them with the weaker schedule though) MVP: 2017 put the V in MVP (Valeri, Villa, Vazquez), 2020 is adding the P 1) Pavon 2) Pozuelo 3) Pizarro Golden Boot: 1) Vela 2) Heber 3) Joseph DotY: 1) Tinnerholm 2) Segura 3) Ike Comeback PotY: 1) Valenzuela 2) Lletget 3) Santos Newcomer: 1) Pizarro 2) Zelarayan 3) Namli (Pavon will win MVP so Chicharito won’t win this) Rookie U20 of the year: 1) Ferreira 2) Pomykal 3) Cerrillo (someone from Dallas) CotY: 1) Diela 2) Porter 3) Bradley
Why in the world wouldn’t DonG run out an el Trafico or a Cascadian Clash tonight when there is nothing to compete with?
FYI, we did make an offseason addition. Marquette University, ever heard of it? We signed their best senior fullback and he's going to start immediately.
Oh shit, it's back dated to January, so we got 95% of the Murillo and Taxi sales for us to do nothing with.
Lord Patrick hanging out with Predrag da goat. I can only get so hard. Its a shame Meola is in that ugly ass Atlanta...wait, I mean metrostar kit instead of his glorious Wizard rainbows.
ALRIGHT GENTS! ITS FINALLY HERE, THE LONG NIGHT IS FINALLY OVER. CRANK YOUR SPEAKERS UP TO 11 AND GET F’N HYPED!!!
