http://www.oregonlive.com/timbers/index.ssf/2016/09/soccer_city_usa_seattle.html Literally the only time there's disagreement is when non-MLS shit comes into play. That's cute, I guess. Look at our city! We love soccer of the women's and college and USL variety! No thanks. Getting into MLS is hard enough already. It's the only main(ish) market sport I can think of where we just aren't that good at. NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL (I may be missing some) are the penultimate levels of sport in the world. Factoring in support for the Thorns or some other such laughable shit for why Portland is soccer city can get out. I don't consider myself a die hard sounders fan by any means. I do watch most every game, despite the fact that the sounders tv deal entirely ignores two thirds of the geographic state (which is ridiculous and I still don't understand). Add to that the fact they have two other major market sports teams with schedule overlaps, which is almost nonexistent with the NBA, and yeah....
That's adorable WalletHub's analysts used a precise formula to generate rankings that were released on Wednesday, comparing cities across six "divisions" of soccer: MLS, NWSL, NASL, USL, men's college soccer and women's college soccer.
If I know anything about Sounders fans they’ll ignore anything you put in front of them that says they aren’t the best fans. If Atlanta keeps this up past their first 5 years it’s definitely them but it’s hard to hand them the title after 1 season, as impressive as those numbers were For now I’d probably give the nod to KC
KC's attendance was nothing special until they built their new stadium. Portland and Seattles has been there since day one. Don't see how you can pick anyone outside of cascadia.
I go by what the players vote. And Portland wins that battle every year. I won’t get into any of the various other polls and soccer specific places that say the same. Equating KC with being hipsters is pretty hilariously odd and comments like this is one of the reasons that Atlanta fans already are getting a pretty shitty reputation among the rest of MLS.
Guys I’m super fucking stoked. No Jozy, no Gio. I’m talking myself into it. We are going to beat their asses tomorrow and hold onto our asses in Toronto.
I like that ideas are being tossed out there by people in the community. Don’t like the thought of taxpayer money buying a new stadium but I definitely agree the stadium is very outdated and get the want for a new one, I’m just not sure how much support is there for a new stadium.
Stopped and ate in the concourse and sat with a couple guys from Toronto. They have about a 1000 that made the trip down. Already in my seats. I’m so fucking excited
Love Bradley getting booed every time he touches the ball. Wish Jozy was there so his bitch ass could get booed as well.
Well, I feel columbus blew a huge opportunity. No away goals allowed, but also scored none without a few of Toronto’s best out.
The Indians didn’t just easily win in Major League. Now we have to go win (or a scored draw) away vs the team who set the season points record with their best players back. That gives this movie suspense and drama. It’ll be more satisfying.
2-2 draw in Toronto. Give us whoever from the West and we’re gonna have thevmost awkward trophy presentation in league history when Dong Grabber has to hand Precourt the trophy in Columbus
Was Bradley really good tonight, Higuain really bad or a combo of the 2? I felt like Bradley was on his back anytime he got near the ball most the game and he was very ineffective
Bradley was a menace breaking up everything and had some really good passes to get out of tight situation for about the first 80 minutes and then along with the rest of TFC had some poor passes that last 10 minutes, but still was breaking up play after play. Overall, I thought he played really well. I noticed him more than any other player on either team in what was largely a rather boring game.
I kept telling my buddy that I was just hoping for those back breaking MB turnovers we are used to for the national team that could get us a goal
Driving from Delaware to NYC and cut across a bridge that is next to the Philadelphia Union stadium. Awesome looking stadium but calling them “Philadelphia” is being very generous with that term as it’s no where near the city.
I could barely see the Philly skyline in the distance. I get not building right in downtown but damn, that’s way the F out there.
New MLS money structure will help teams retain star players https://www.metro.us/sports/new-mls-money-structure-will-help-teams-retain-star-players
Jermaine Jones and a bunch of others are out at LAG. All three keepers habe also been released from their contracts. Lot of turnover with LAFC starting next season.
