Folks I purchased tickets in the Army for this Saturday with a chance to win and host the championship match. I know there are plenty of people that hate me (justified) and the Timbers (less justified, but still justified) but the MLS cup on the line at the most iconic stadium in MLS would be bonkers cool if Timbers can win. I legit am giving myself goosebumps just thinking of this Saturday.
Nothing against the Timbers but everyone is rooting for the final to have an ownerless team and played on a baseball field
Crew stadium has a case if you allow the ‘dos a cero’ games to count towards it legacy. Mostly just being the first ever SSS, but also, it’s scoreboard exploded and burnt down, that was awesome. But just MLS matches it’s probably shaky RFK and it’s raccoons.
Ok, best**MLS stadium. But a stadium that’s been around since 1926 and has seen Elvis, Pele, an assortment of USMNT games (mostly the women), and even ski-jumping exhibitions. It’s also still being used and upgraded and has hosted Timbers soccer since 1975. RFK is more iconic because of its size, location, the Washington Football Team. Providence Park has every bit of a deep soccer history while having a better fanbase, Stadium is 35 years older, and in the heart of Portland with 4K Army fans showing up every game. The new stadiums take their designs from Europe and Timbers, not RFK.
