Vicki’s Lunch Van Dirk’s Filet & Vine Bibb Street Pizza Scott Street Deli Lek’s Railroad Thai El Rey La Jolla Central Vintage Year Taste
This is a pretty good list. I'd also like to add Hamburger King and Chris' Hot Dogs (both divey institutions) and Jubilee Seafood (the best restaurant in the Gump).
I'm not sure how you're gonna fit Montgomery's three premier activities (Biscuits games, movies, bowling) into such a tight schedule. Good luck.
I’ll actually be in the barn Thursday for a few hours so it’ll be fun to see Clemson with a chick fila
I have to go next week and I googled bbq Montgomery and what pops up on this list as number 2? https://theculturetrip.com/north-am...he-5-best-barbecue-restaurants-in-montgomery/ Chili’s bar and grill Gonna be a long 24 hrs
The Prime Ribeye cooked on the BGE with Cajun butter sauce at La Jolla is one of the best steaks I’ve ever had.
No idea what that website is, but Sam’s is the best BBQ in Montgomery. Get the chopped pork and sausage combo. The owner played football at K-State, so there’s EMAW shit everywhere.
Also shout-out to the best bacon cheese fries (Spencer's Gooey Fries on the menu) in the game, found at Baumhower's.
Please provide pics and a brief summary of your thoughts and experience with this fine Alabama dog joint
Round 1: Chris’ Hot Dogs I ordered the special dog and cheeseburger; both all the way, naturally. The chili dog is fantastic. The tender bun offers a delightful contrast to the crunchy nature of the sauerkraut. The cheeseburger is solid, but the lack of vegetables left me wanting more. I imagine this is fantastic drunk/hungover food I washed it all down with an ice water, as it is important to hydrate yourself in these hot times. I look forward to trying more unique Montgomery establishments
I've never actually been, I just know everyone loves it. I'm hardly ever down that way really and if I am it's usually to go to the brewery or something at the wharf. I think I ate at Playa when it was something else, it looks like it has good reviews. The spot is nice.
I'd post this in the Bham thread. Or heck of this board doesn't have a gulf coast thread already don't see why it wouldn't hurt. I have a friend that had Louisiana Lagniappe recently and enjoyed it
Brick and Spoon was mentioned as a good brunch spot. It’s really great. Playa was mentioned and is good as well. Fin and Fork is the best Sunday brunch spot. $20 pp for a 3 course brunch, $6 extra for bottomless mimosas or Bloody Mary bar. If you would like to cook your own seafood, drive over to Pensacola to Joe Patti’s. Really good selection of fresh catches. They have pretty much whatever you want. For a nice dinner, I prefer Cobalt or Louisiana Lagniappe. For a more laid back seafood lunch/dinner, my go to is the Original Oyster House in Gulf Shores. For a good family atmosphere and southern food, Lambert’s Cafe in Foley (home of the throwed rolls). The Gulf is on the water in Orange Beach and is a pretty cool spot if the weather is nice.
I almost forgot... Fisher’s is an awesome restaurant as well. It’s in the more expensive bucket with Cobalt and Lagniappe but is high quality.
Joe Patti's is awesome. Grew up with some of the owners kids for Oyster House. We used to go all the time after cyo basketball games. has Cobalt always been where it's at? Thought I had been there but I'm not sure.
Sounds like you are downtown. Central is close and good. It used to be better before they changed chefs imo, but still solid. But like I said, can’t go wrong with that Ribeye at La Jolla. It is $45 though.
They have a boneless pork chop that looks like it came off of a dinosaur. Personally, I’d say call an audible and head to City Grill in Hampstead. Check out the Tipping Point for a couple beers beforehand, also out in Hampstead.
It’s been under the perdido pass for as long as I can remember, but for some reason I’m wanting to say it did used to be in a different location... maybe where Big Fish is now or in that area?
La Jolla also always has Weller antique pours at a reasonable price if you are in to that sort of thing.
