i know. so lame. also lame: preorded the premium edition on ps4 digitally in their store, and it didn't unlock goro for me. i'm pretty pissed.
Not a fan of the digital. Would rather pretty order on amazon and have it show up. Then game is legit good though. Actually like the new characters a lot. A lot of new abilities and weapons. Presentation is top notch. Havent started the story yet but it man there is a ton to do. That said Noob shows up for a Faction Kill if you are Lin keui.
heard it was smoke. i am lin keui but haven't tried. in story mode smoke is in it and looks identical to noob in his revenant form, so probably where the confusion is. the story is actually pretty damn good overall. i enjoyed it a lot. cheesy at times, yes, but kept me entertained throughout. like an 80s action movie or something. lot of one liners and action. pretty cool. stick around for the scene mid-credits too after you beat it.
The story needs to be cheesy so I'm glad to hear it is. MK is violent but also over the top humor at the same time. I'm starting the story today.
I love some of the little things too. Like how test your might is its own tower. It kinda was in mk9 but you had to unlock each level in that master challenge tower....which I didn't like. kung jin has been pretty much confirmed as Spoiler gay by the developer and hinted at by a cutscene in story mission.
So id be interested as to why a couple of characters in story mode arent playable. I only completed 6 chapters - but i am not referring to characters that are just shown in cut scenes. There are a couple you actually fight but they arent playable. It's weird to me. minor story spoiler by me naming those characters.. Spoiler Rain, Baraka. And Rain looks pretty badass too
considering how creative the fatalities are...i dont think thats it. Im sure its time/resources excuse but to me i feel like they did a lot of the work so why not go all the way with it. obviously dont know outside looking in but im curious
I was irritated by that as well ice. I feel like if they slap together a couple fatalities then I'd be cool with them releasing them in a month Sans variations. I just wanna use rain and it seems pointless to put forth that many resources for an npc.
What's the replay factor of this game? I'm pretty much just teetering on the edge of buying it, but I know the new Destiny and Advanced Warfare dlc is about to drop soon so I don't know how much spare video game time I'll have to invest in this game.
Endless? Outside the story there are traditional towers then there's loving towers that change everyday. Test your night has its own tower. There's modes with fun fight modifiers. Then even if you have a favorite character, each has 3 variations with slightly different movesets. So there's a lot to learn f you are into mastering characters. Then if you're an unlock junkie the krypt is massive again.
Beat story mode yesterday. Agree with above comments, really enjoyable. There are a couple YouTube movies out there that play all the cutscenes, so if you don't want to invest the time in beating it, you can basically see the whole thing. I think Ermac is my favorite character so far. The voice modulation they use for his spoken word lines is pretty cool. The last Shinook battle was so annoying - he hit me with like 6 unblockable blasts of fire in a row when I had him at 5% health (versus my ~70%), and I lost. I guess they have to make the last boss pretty hard.
Also just finished the story yesterday...spoilering some comments on it.. Spoiler Overall a great story mode for a fighting game Cassie Cage is the one who saves the day? Really? The actors daughter? I guess they wanted a female to end it, which is fine...but never felt like she was on track to be that person i guess? Boss battle way too easy. I know its the story and not the tower...but still. Was expecting a bit more. I got Shinnok cornered pretty easy and just beat him senseless from there. That post credit scene was great. Frost!! New characters I like playing with from the story mode, in order from best to worst: 1. Kung Jin 2. Cassie Cage 3. Takeda 4. Briggs 5. Kotal Kahn Speaking of kotal Kahn, for a leader of outworld he was really everyones bitch in story mode Human Scorpion is p cool

have you guys been able to hit long combos? i wasn't hitting shit, to the point where i thought something might be wrong with the game. i google'd it, and it turns out there are two default settings you can flick to 'off' that really help. this video helped a ton
I've added Ermac into my list as well. Been ok with the bigger guys like Kotal, Ferra/Tor, and Gorro. Reptile has to be the worst on the game. I don't know what the trick is but test your might is ridiculously hard.
Still sticking with the :aero: as my primary. Cassie has been fun and always have to spend plenty of time with sun zero obv The last text your might took me forever hut finally got it. I practically rubbed the skin off my Palm.
It's all good try to save your xrays as finishers rather than just 33% damage, and learn as many knock up juggling combinations that you can. Juggling and correct meter control are key.
Nah you can win every match without ever using xrays if you do a knock up juggling combo for 12-15 hits you do nearly double the damage a xray would do, and don't forget the block button.
Beat the traditional tower with Jason last night. Pretty good ending. His Slasher style isn't bad. I really need to be able to do combos. I think the most I've got is like 5. I'm the same way as IV. Medium is easy, but on Hard it takes me several times to get past a character. I've still not figured out how to do test your might either. The old shirt over the 2 buttons isn't working. Is it better to just slap all four at the same time?
I love it, but I've always been a big MK fan. I even got the girlfriend playing it. I downloaded the pack so I can get all the dlc for it as soon as it's available. It's pretty damn entertaining though. I did story mode first and then went to the traditional tower to figure out who my favorite charachters would be and to see their end story. I almost didn't buy it because I knew the new zombies map was coming out and the new Destiny dlc was too, but I enjoy it. It's something different.
