somehow hadn't even heard of it, but just looked and yeah, that looks terrible. thanks for taking one for the team
I don’t jnow how hurricane heist even made it to a theater, it was more the quality of a bad movie on SyFy
I enjoyed it as well. Was worriedly it would be cheesy and subpar. Surprisingly, it was excellent IMO. Wife really loved it too and she has never seen any of the Tomb Raider movies.
I've really been slacking and haven't seen anything since Black Panther. I know I've missed Game night and Annihilation. Anything else worth watching from the last few weeks? See a couple liked Tomb Raider.
Took the kid to see Peter Rabbit yesterday. It was fine for a kids movie. Best part is that it was only 90 minutes which is when my 3 year old starts getting restless.
I finally watched Lady Bird last night. I thought it was a good movie but I think my expectations were way too high after hearing rave reviews from people who saw it with zero expectations. Interesting, well done movie but wasn't amazing to me. The ending did make me tear up a little.
Saw Tomb Raider last night. Left very underwhelmed. It wasn't really a bad movie but there wasn't anything really good about it either.
Think I'm gonna check ito tomb raider Thursday. I know it's not going to be great, but I've paid for that shit, I'm gonna check it out
Didn't love either but I like tomb raider a helluva lot more than I thought I would. Parts are ridiculously cheesy but after all it is a video game movie. A movie I never would have went to and paid for without moviepass was death wish. If you like Bruce Willis and/or the die hard series go see it. It was a classic 90s action movie set in 201678
Going to angelika and paying 16$ for a movie in a leather recliner, a burger, fires, and a Sculpin is pretty dope.
Luke warm take but I don't like alamo drafthouse type places and listening to savages eat while I watch movies. Going to any number of movies and paying $7.95 a month with leather recliners and a hash pen isn't too shabby though.
Used movie pass to see Demon House last night which is pretty impressive considering that it’s only in like 14 theaters nationwide. It was surprisingly good
Just pulled the trigger on $6.95 month rate The all up front kinda sucks but with matinee prices approaching $10, will more than save in the long run so it’s still a damn good deal
Probably signing up come end of April. I could potentially get a lot of use out of it May-August when I don't have to work like 50+ hours and 7 days a week.
At the theater now getting ready to watch this. Wanted to see Isle of Dogs but then realized it wasn’t out for like two more weeks.
Did isle of dogs get a limited release this week it something? I thought it was coming out this week as well, but it obviously wasn't playing here
Saw Unsane tonight. I expected more of a horror movie, but what I got was solid. It was more of a thriller. Not the best and you could tell it was Soderburgh's first time tackling that genre (it gets a little too bogged down in the details the way a drama would, whereas most horror/thrillers just hit the beats and build to a quick but fulfilling resolution), but it was good. The iPhone limited what he could do visually, which gave it an arthouse feel, and really made some of the more intense moments work. It made the claustrophobic scenes really pop. It's a solid 7/10 film; perfect for MoviePass
Yes, it opened today in 6 cities and is opening in more cities on Wednesday, including Houston for example, and then an even wider release thereafter.
Haha ok that's what I figured. The post you quoted was about Love, Simon, so that's why I was confused. Looking forward to seeing isle of dogs for sure
Love, Simon was pretty good too and Tony Hale's character was hilarious. The movie definitely reminded me what a fucking mess high school was.
Landmark theaters added in a bunch of cities. Really helpful for me, added 3-4 new smaller theaters in my city. They offer more diverse choices in movies and I prefer going to them over the megaplexes
