Going to movie pass pacific rim; robots vs similar but legally distinct Godzilla monsters. Seems like the type of thing to see for “free”
So Ready Player One was great. Just a classic Spielberg adventure popcorn flick with tons of great pop culture references from the 70s-90s. I honestly enjoyed more than Black Panther.
I have to imagine this is the discussion between th Rock and his agent whenever a new script comes in: agent: “Hey Rock, a new script came in, you wan-” Rock: “I’ll do it”
When I get mine I’m gonna go on a spree to catch up Red sparrow Tomb raider Pacific rim Isle of dogs Second viewings of Black panther and RPO
I got a “your card is on the way email” Thanks for subscribing to MoviePass! Your personalized card has been ordered and should arrive in about two weeks. Once your card arrives, log in to the MoviePass app and activate your card. You‘ll then be ready to check in at the theater and start seeing the movies you want. It’s that simple!
Watching Spielberg go back and recreate his idol's (Kubrick) classic was worth the price of admission.
Tomb Raider deserves to be the the highest rated movie based on a video game in Rotten Tomatoes history at a robust 50%. You don't need to see it twice, but it is enjoyable enough way to spend 2 hours. Having only played the last two Tomb Raider games, the writer and director went to pains to include components of the game play and they mostly worked. And still some weirdo nerds looked at Alicia Vikander, who is outrageously beautiful, and got mad she didn't have bigger boobs.
Also super troopers 2 Comedy sequels are almost always awful but I’m gonna MoviePass the shit out of that
And for my first MoviePass; Tomb Raider. Not too bad. Writing was lazy in places but not bad overall.
laxjoe This thing work at 14? I've threatened to do it several times and never pulled the trigger because I wasn't sure how it jived with the more expensive theaters, 14 and 16
Saw ready player one with it on Saturday. It was fine. I enjoyed about the same amount as tomb raider
Saw Pacific Rim: Uprising not as good as the original but still way more enjoyabld than any Transformers movie or tv show plus John Boyega and Scott Eastwood fighting aliens just feels right
I somehow have still not received my card for months after being charged 4 times (I didn't realize. I know I know). I emailed them a month ago and they verified my email and said they we're sending it. Still fucking nothing. When I go to cancel it, it says I won't be able to reactivate it or have a new account for 9 months. I still want the damn thing, so I'm really not trying to cancel it. Anyone else have any issues like this?
No, but something clearly got screwed up here. You should be able to get a whole bunch of credits from them if and when you get your card
Thought ready player one was fantastic. Just a ton of fun. Was my 10 movie in the 3 months I've had it. Still have to see game night. Blockers is getting great reviews so I'll probably check that out this weekend.
Did RPO tonight and loved it. Really excited to find out I can get AMC rewards with this thing. 3D or IMAX must-sees should just about pay for themselves.
Saw A Quiet Place tonight. Really really good. You can pick out the typical things wrong with it like all apocalyptic movies. But it was very entertaining and a cool concept.
Times have changed and there now generally a movie or two a month with seeing, but we're coming up on the time of year I specifically bought moviepass for.
A Quiet Place was excellent. Very focused, didn't try to do too much. Krazinski has real talent behind the camera. He really did a great job revealing things to us before he revealed them to the characters, which added to the tension. Like said above, there are typical flaws the force you to suspend disbelief, but it's all stuff related to the world around the story. The story itself is tight, tense and really terrific. also, worst part of the movie... Spoiler
Spoiler My main issue with it was that if he knew they wouldn't hear them by the waterfall. Why not set up camp there during the end of the pregnancy and just have the baby there.
Spoiler Yeah I remember thinking "why don't they just live by the river?" but I guess they wanted to live on the farm because his workshop and ham radio, etc is there. having the baby by the waterfall and having to carry it back home (crying and such) would be a disaster, not to mention how hard it'd be on the mom. My two biggest issues were (1) how do they still have electricity? If there's a generator wouldn't that noise attract the monsters? and (2) how did she deliver that baby within the span of a single fireworks display? I've had three kids (well my wife has, but I was around). That shit takes time even with great medical care, of which they had zilch. but those are nitpicks
Saw it today as well as my #2 MP pick. Agreed but the first Transformers was pretty fun. Spoiler Enjoyed the hell out of the Voltron nod
