Finally got the email requiring pics of my ticket stubs this morning. Also went and saw Jurassic Park last night. It was fine. Enjoyed it for what it is. One guy behind us was commenting on just about everything until my roommate (who is 6'10") turned around and said something. The guy didn't speak again.
Tried to go see a movie today and when I went to check in I got a message saying "unauthorized". It's been 7 hours and still no response from customer support
Peak pricing on a matinee for a movie in its second week of release? That's some BS. So much for it only being on opening weekend.
it depends on how many people see it at a time also it shows you beforehand if its gonna be peak pricing
No it doesn't. Every single screening of Skyscraper, Hotel Transylvania, Ant Man, and the new Purge movie are marked as peak pricing.
Well, I just paid peak pricing for a 1:30 showing of Ant Man and the Wasp that was approximately 60% full. This is bullshit.
Moviepass doesn't have access to avail seats in a theater. They are just putting arbitrary fees on whatever they want.
Their site says you can waive one peak pricing fee per month but if this gets me anywhere close to $20 I'll probably end up signing up for the AMC version. Then I can at least buy my ticket ahead of time through the app.
MoviePass better fix this shit and quick or there is going to be a mass exodus. Theaters showing every showing all day as peak priced and then people go to an empty theater.
They're trying to dissuade people in big cities from going at time where its costing MP $20 a ticket since they're still hemorrhaging cash. They should do something to make a flucuating monthly price dependant on where you see most of your movies and how much the avg ticket costs.
Sorry to Bother You was not what I expected going into it. I’m still not sure if I liked it, but has definitely left me thinking about it the next day.
I'm kinda surprised the reviews are so good for this. I saw it yesterday and thought it was pretty bad. To be fair though I was pretty tired going in and I fell asleep in the theater about half way through. I'll probably watch it again some other time to see if I like it any better. I saw Leave No Trace tonight and thought it was really good.
Was going to see a movie this afternoon but everything that had been released in the last two weeks, in all three local theaters, was tagged with peak pricing. I'll let it go for now but it will get annoying enough eventually to dump the service.
Just FYI, at least here, it seems like the theatres that do E-Ticketing thru MoviePass are exempt from surge pricing.
Oh, cool. MoviePass tells me that I cannot see a movie until they review my reasoning behind not submitting a ticket stub for my last movie. Oh, the ticket stub for a movie I saw on Thursday night? That ticket stub? The one where I didn't receive any email or requirement for taking a picture of my movie stub until Friday morning? Oh yeah, that makes complete sense.
Got a ticket for Sicario. Decided a few mins later I didn’t want to be out that late so I returned it. Guy at the counter says “oh since you used MoviePass instead of refund to card I can just give you a general use rain check ticket ” Lifehack
Almost every showing at my theaters are listed as peak pricing today. Even Incredibles 2 which has been out for over a month.
Lol. Moviepass charging a $6 surcharge to see Mission Impossible tonight. Plus every showing of every major release over the past month was labeled as peak pricing before the theaters even opened. How does a Thursday matinee qualify for peak pricing?
I just checked the app here in Houston and it's $6 for every MI show tonight, but also a $5 charge for a couple random Ant Man matinees this afternoon which came out like 3 weeks ago now. My wife and i are planning on seeing MI on Saturday night and i was going to use Regal points for her ticket and now may do the same for mine out of spite rather than pay the ridiculous $6 peak price (assuming they still haven't instituted the once a month peak pass deal they promised); either that or just get a ticket to see Ocean's 8 and meet my wife in the MI theater.
Again, they don't know demand or anything. They are just basically be fucks about it and pretending its still $10 a month when it isn't anymore.
Yeah they're done; just secured a tiny 5mm loan, which ought to be enough to wind down operations. They never should have dropped to $9.99. I get that it was a gamble and they thought it was needed to break into the mainstream (I've been with them since they were $40 a month!), but they should have tried $15 or $20. Maybe they should have done tiers where for 10 a month you could see two movies a week or something but for 20 it's one a day. If nothing else they shook up the industry and forced the hands of a lot of theaters. I just moved to a town that only has an AMC theater and their subscription service (20 a month for three movies a week) is not bad. It's not as good as moviepass but it's better than nothing.
It has mission impossible completely grayed out for me even though I haven’t seen it yet, but doesn’t have the “you’ve already seen this movie” message
It's actually the same for me. Mission impossible isn't an option, there are other movies that say I've already seen them, then movies I can check into.
I checked the app a little while ago after seeing online that people had issues with it last night and got an error message, it wouldn't even load the home screen. Spoiler: Technical Issues
This is what I got but I can enter the app and use it like normal outside of MI and movies I’ve seen.
