I live in a small town so only MI6 for me at my local theaters but a E ticketing theater in a Scottsdale will let me check in to everything. WTF?
Options on 8/14: Mission Impossible Options on 8/15: Crazy Rich Asians and The Meg What in the absolute shit is this? I hope the entire business burns in the fiery depths of hell.
Ok, they added Crazy Rich Asians now. Everything looks good on my end. I will check again in a few hours.
I cancelled a couple days ago but I'm currently getting every single movie available that I haven't seen in the Atlanta area. When I cancelled I was only getting Slender Man and Mission Impossible.
Just checked the app and pretty much every show and time is available at my nearby Regal theater here in Houston. Unfortunately, i can't see anything today, but may try tomorrow or Friday if this keeps up.
I don't think I've never bought a ticket early via the app. So just to confirm, would you go to the theater early to buy a ticket for a show in the evening, as long as you purchase it within 30 minutes of checking in?
I live close to the theater so I would just go to the kiosk. It allows you to buy tickets up to two days ahead.
Interesting, thanks. Can you check in for a film two days away via the app or do you just check in for that day's showing?
And this all reminds me of this article i saw over the weekend re: all the ways people used--and in some cases scammed--moviepass: https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/katienotopoulos/moviepass-scammers-poop-popcorn-vengence
I never tried the concessions thing but another one I'll add to that list is I take my son to see movies at 10 AM on the weekends a lot. Because it's only like $7-8 at that time of day the amount credited to the card always got both of us in to the movie.
So you purchase 2 tickets at the kiosk and the card covers most of that? And then the difference is charged to whichever credit card your account is set up with? I’ve gone to a few movies with my son, but have always just paid for his kids ticket
Gaddamn those crazy rich Asians reviews I was gonna see it regardless but may check it out this weekend
MP revealed which movies will be available on each day over the next week. Who knows what showtimes will be available for each during the day. https://www.moviepass.com/movies/
To our members: Today we are rolling out our new subscription plan that was announced last week. We believe this new model provides great value to the MoviePass community and, equally important, ensures that we can continue to provide these benefits for you to enjoy into the future. As we transition to the new subscription plan, we want to share more details about our service moving forward as part of our commitment to keep you fully informed. For the time being, we will be limiting the films and showtimes that are available to members each day. During this transition period, MoviePass will offer up to six films to choose from daily, including a selection of major studio first-run films and independent releases. In addition, showtime availability may be limited depending on the popularity of those films on the app that particular day. While the films and showtimes available in the app will change daily, the schedule of available film selections will be published at least a week in advance on the MoviePass website so members can plan ahead for the films they want to see. Click here to see the current schedule. Please note that e-ticketing will continue to include ALL movies and showtimes with no restrictions. Because actual availability will change daily, we encourage our members to always check the MoviePass app before leaving for the theater. As we celebrate the one-year anniversary of our $9.95 subscription offering, we want to thank you -- our millions of members -- for your loyalty and for your continued support. We’ll have some exciting updates on additional features and service offerings -- that will bring greater value to you as a member -- in the near future. Mitch Lowe
Black klansman and the meg showing at my preferred theater Hopefully that holds true through the weekend
MoviePass has changed their terms of service, no joke, three times in the past month. And they were three huge changes, too, which directly affect the customer (changing pricing and availability of the service). Some companies don't make three TOS changes of that nature in a decade.
https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/katienotopoulos/moviepass-scammers-poop-popcorn-vengence The MoviePass Pooper "I’d check into a movie I had no intention of seeing just so I could use the bathroom. New York City is such a bathroom desert, and movie theater bathrooms are always empty and cavernous. [Once] I checked in to The Greatest Showman, pooped, and left through a different entrance so they wouldn’t see me leave five minutes after I walked in." —Harry Wood
Have you considered getting a ticket to that and then seeing something else? And then buying a ticket to whatever you see today in a couple weeks (and also see something else then) so that the movie you see today still makes money from you. I had to do that earlier this week when we only had 2 options at our preferred theater.
Surprisingly, I still had to verify on Thursday night, as I thought they were getting rid of that when they rolled out the new program. Regardless, I got a ticket to The Meg and verified it before ultimately seeing a double feature of Black Klansman and a Texas indie film called Never Goin Back. And I actually had to go get my ticket after work before going back to the theater a couple hours later because I was worried that we were going to get the no more screenings available error message when we got to the theater at 730.
So in theory I could buy a ticket for the movie shown, take picture then quickly change it at the box office to movie I want to see?
Assuming the employee isn’t a hard ass and the theater has some sort of rain check or other internal store credit type option.
MP successfully cancelled, didn't charge my card this week. I may consider another subscription like this one day, but only one that is predictable and isn't difficult to use.
Went to go see MI last night at 5:00. Only movie available to see was Slenderman, luckily also at 5. So I was able to watch MI on Movie Pass’s dime. Wife wants to see Crazy Rich Asians tonight. Only that and Blackkkclansman are available at local theater. Other local theater has zero movies showing.
Just checked here in Houston (even though I can’t see anything tonight) and it’s the same deal here, just alpha and the meg in 3D so no options. Thinking about a double feature on Tuesday night so it better not be the same BS then
