20% Off Holiday Flowers!
Hell yeah! This is why I stuck with it!
Went Friday afternoon and checked in for some shitty movie that was available. Sent them the picture then traded it in for spider verse.
They still make guys take pictures? I don't think I've had to do that since August.
I just check in and buy whatever movie I want to see on the kiosk. No pic required.
Still making me take pics. I've been using it pretty regularly so maybe that's why.
Has anyone tried using the app today? Nothing is loading for me at any theater. Usually I can sign out and back in a couple times until it works, but not today.
I’m just getting the usual no screenings message at all nearby locations
MoviePass has been spamming me like crazy the past 2 days. They've sent over 10 emails trying to get me to sign back up.
Bc They're about to be delisted by Nasdaq.
Nice of them to email me a discount on HelloFresh
Mine is EveryPlate
Is anyone actually still using MP?
I still get their emails, does that count?
I still use it because I signed up for the yearly subscription. Anybody know how to find out when a yearly subscription resets? I'm going to cancel, but I can't remember the date I started.
I checked my email and I signed up in March 2018 so mine’s ending soon
I have it on an old card so I’ll just let it die
Just go into the app, and go to account. It's right there at the top.
“I got data couldn’t be read because it’s missing”. It’s on an old card with different billing zip so I’ll just let it die
Still been able to see my 3 movies a month, just been going early mornings on weekend and buying evening tickets
When I go there it says monthly and the charge is for $0.00. I'm pretty sure it has said that every month though. The billing date is always listed as the 4th of each month. Does your subscription start when you order the card or when you receive it and activate it?
I don't know then. Everything I have says annually on it.
Actually, it has 2018 on it, so now I don't know.
Does anyone have Sinemia or the AMC version of one of these things? I'm going to cancel Moviepass soon and was wondering what the best other options are.
I love AMC A-List personally
3 movies a week is perfect for me, plus you can see all the IMAX and Dolby movies you want. Plus repeats.
Every time I go see a movie at the AMC by my place, I tell myself I'm just gonna go ahead and sign up for it.
I’ve seen 9 movies already since I signed up for it this month.
Plus you can reserve tickets way ahead of time on their app.
If you have an AMC near you that you can tolerate then its a great deal
Don't have an AMC near me but this looks good.. 3 movies a month for 8 bucks and you can roll one ticket over.
have heard nothing but awful things about using (or trying to use) that app.
"I swear I've changed! It'll be different this time"
Alamo Drafthouse is coming out with a $20 month unlimited plan by EOY so that may be the ticket (no pun intended). With how pricey movie tickets are (even matinee), then two movies a month pays for it.
If you sign up for that you deserve all the pain it will bring of no movies available.
Haven’t been able to use MoviePass in 6 months because of this shit
My unlimited yearly MP plan ran out and it was on an old deactivated card so I hope they enjoy attempting to charge it
There are no more chargings at this location
"So what’s different about this plan that won’t cause MoviePass to lose a fuck ton of cash all over again? The details remain vague for now, but apparently there will be no limit on how many 2D movies you can see. When it comes to what movies will be available, that’s, uh, where things could piss people off again. According to Business Insider, the new unlimited plan could place restrictions on subscribers’ title choices, “based on their location, day of movie, time of movie, title, and the individual user’s historical usage.” Same shit, different plan..."
I went to Drafthouse about 55~60 times in a 12 month period when I had moviepass, up from about 25 visits from the previous 12 months w/o MP but moved out of Alamos core market (Austin) and into an area without one at the same time as the MP service was getting gutted
That was about six months ago. Alamos own sub plan is coming and so is a a brand new location (built from ground up, not a takeover or redo) in my backyard.
Looks like meats back on the menu boys.
Hear me out: Movie Pass imploded when more people signed up and went to the movies than they anticipated. They were spending more money than they were taking in, simple as that.
Now that 90% of their user base has cancelled their subscriptions (I pulled that percentage out of thin air but whatever, it's a lot), Movie Pass can probably afford to operate they way they did before they became the it-thing for a few months.
Doubt it. They charged like 50/mo for unlimited before.
Where are they building an Alamo in FW?
I love the AMC pass. $25/mo, up to 3 movies a week. Can reserve seats beforehand, go to IMAX, AMC Prime etc.
Yeah it's great for me now that I live a mile from an AMC Theater. For years the closest was a Cinemark and I had MoviePass back when it was $40 a month. I still got my money's worth too
It would be really helpful if everyone would go ahead and sign up so we can pump and dump my penny stock.
Probably gonna do this too since I’ve got a couple of AMCs within a few miles of me in either direction
The new big movies are like 17 bucks. 2 movies a month and its worth it.
North Richland Hills (19 mins from me in central FW).
Randomly, I went to a screening at Denton, and got talking to my waiter. Turns out he is part of the roaming launch team - going from market to market to train new staff and get it off the ground. He shared a couple cool things that I've already forgotten, but confirmed that the plan is to eventually enter central FW; a strategy similar to how they did Dallas.
Just saw this reply to an Alamo fb post:
“We just cancelled our beta test season pass in Raleigh. You can’t order tix more than 7 days in advance. Most of the movies we watch there are special features which sell out as soon as they are announced. We won’t risk missing them!”
Oh yeah, you live in Heights too (or nearby) - that one’s basically up in Keller/Colleyville, so I’ll probably get the AMC pass since I can be to either the one downtown or in Clearfork in under 10 minutes.
