I’m a couple weeks late responding to this but couldn’t agree more. Some friends and I made a detour coming back from Tuscaloosa after the 2005 Florida Bama game. Was an awesome time. Rolled up to the track already drunk/still drunk and just kept it going. Walked inside carrying a clear trash bag with like 72 beers and ice and saw a car flip within the first 15 mins of sitting down. Got back to Gainesville around 8am on Monday and slept for about 20 hours. Epic weekend even if the gators got blown out.
Like I've said before.....Bubba is overrated and he only got the ride he did because of what happened last year. He is a bust and not sure how he stays in that car after next year. I'd love to see someone like Noah Gragson or maybe one of these other guys like Lajoie or Preece get a shot. Michael Jordan already said he wants to win now and Bubba isn't even close to winning at this point.

I trash him because he is overrated and has done nothing in his career to warrant a top ride. He only got the ride because of the BLM movement that was going on and it was a way to spark interest in the sport. They did the same with Danica. Had no talent in a cup car but was handed the 10 car. I would love to see a man of color do well but he is not talented enough. His on track performance speaks for itself. Are you insinuating that I don't like him because of his race? I just hate that there are more deserving drivers of a ride of that caliber. No I honestly don't think Lajoie deserves that ride but if you are going to throw Bubba in it, then you can take any driver from 20-35 and give them the same chance.

My understanding is DEI was so fast at restrictor plate tracks because Sr told then what they needed to do to the cars to make them fast. Who knows if that's true but their plate cars got slower the further away you got from his death
