lol they DQ the 2 cars in front of Elliott but none of the other team cars that I assume were set up the same way.

 

Ya what does removing the wrap expose?

 

I don’t know enough about this car. I’m wondering how the front fascia modified not visible with the wrap on provides an aero advantage unless it has something to do with how the air is pushed up under the car? Plugging a gap between the fascia and underside panel?

 

No appeal. The 9 is the winner. It’s good that JGR has accepted this.

 

2" piece of tape?

 

Probably some kind of bullshit like it strengthened the piece or smoothed a crease. Fuck off. You can literally rebuild that entire area with 200mph tape sheets in race.

 

Yea the first DQ winner in 50 years over a 2"x5" piece of tape is a joke.

 

Except NASCAR had decided and everyone understood/accepted that with the new car there was going to be strict rules. While this might seem minor that are clear rules and this shows they are serious and will help to keep teams from pushing too many boundaries. That’s what the new car was designed for. JGR not fighting this is a testament to that mission.

I dislike Denny Hamlin but I wouldn't give the trophy back. Fuck Nascar for that DQ. Michael Waltrip can use jet fuel in his cars, Chad Knaus can completely alter Jimmie Johnson's car to win multiple races, yet a piece of tape causes a DQ?? Laughable and embarrassing for Nascar.

 

Holy crap at that Larson Dillon impact. Could have been a lot worse.

 

That crash was gnarly. Lucky for Kyle the 42 was there. If there wasn’t a car there, it could’ve ended tragically.

 

Slapping sides like that also benefited both cars

 

That turn 1 on restarts was a shit show.

 

What was the penalty for this?

 

Higher than "out"

 

Next gen car also been kind of sketchy when it comes to safety

 

Funny bc chastain took the access road just because, not that he was avoiding the wreck.

 

Harvick is really good

 

Playoffs are filling up. Going to be interesting to see if we get anyone in on points or if a winner misses out.

 

Been really impressed with Bubba the last month or so. That team has figured it out, and he's driving the heck out of the car.

 

yup. take away some of those pit blunders in the first half of the season, and he's really done well.

 

I've been one of Bubba's harshest critics. I will say, I have been very impressed with what he has done the past few weeks. I'm still not a fan but have to give credit where it is due.

 

Another caution caused by Ross Chastain. Christ.

 

The next gen car has been pretty damn good imo. Much better racing

 

Harvick goes from totally washed up to back to back winner?

 

Heard Kyle Petty say this past week something like "Now Harvick and the #4 team become the most dangerous team on the track" and he seemed to be dead on with that

 

And suddenly becomes a threat to win the championship. Bizarre

 

Been a wild season with this new car. Hope that continues in the following years, but I assume with time the top teams will keep rising back to the top.

 

They should change cars more frequently for that reason and the chaos is fun imo
