I didn't think Kyle did anything wrong. I did think it was funny when he told Stenhouse "I sucked too."
The man stomped across the infield with a camera crew to get roughed up by a Jr & a Sr. Also NASCAR has spent the last 72 hr promoting the fight for clicks. Weird mental gymnastics by them imo.
I'm not excusing Steinhouse Jr for standing at his hauler waiting for a confrontation. I think it's weird that NASCAR promotes this fight for clicks and then hands out fines to everyone but Kyle.
Fine, I got that wrong. Steinhouse's waiting at his hauler was weird and confrontational. NASCAR wanting the content while handing out fines is talking out of both sides of its mouth. Be about it or don't, can't split the baby.
They only got a few races, Stenhouse got a fine and an indefinite suspension. I wouldn't say they got it worse.
Stenhouse Sr got the suspension and Jr only a fine. Seemed like he started it. Unless I am missing something. Also, I don’t know what the other guys make so maybe it’s cheaper to miss a race instead of being fined
I assume it’s the two Kroger guys who initially were grabbing at guys then it looked like they were about to go after Busch up on the hauler deck after they pulled the dad off.
Whole thing seemed kind of soft from Stenhouse. Tried to talk to him at first but then tried to sneak a punch in. But I guess Kyle did the same thing to Joey a few years ago so whatever.
The penalties and how this is handled has been consistent for at least the last 5 years. Drives can fight, in the heat of the moment, but there could be a fine. Do something premeditated and it’s a bigger issue. Anyone outside of that needs to stay out of it or you’re getting booted. edit for example, Noah & Ross fought last year right after a race and no penalties.
It was weak that Ricky brought 2 crew members and his dad with him. Those guy deserve heavy suspensions for doing that.
If you want to fight, fine. I think that's stupid but whatever. But yeah don't bring a crew where she could easily go sideways and get ugly.
Jr usually has a pretty good take. His issue seems to be more with the inconsistency of NASCAR and I don't necessarily think he's wrong here for those interested.
New observer again here. I know they can’t do anything about rain, but man these past two weeks have taken the steam out of the season for me. I also don’t understand why they can’t continue the race today. One interesting byline these past few weeks it seems is the Fords are all of a sudden fast as fuck after an abysmal start to the year.
Yeah I know there is a ton of logistics involved week to week. And I’m sure I’m missing something about the cars themselves maybe not responding to three days in a row racing. Idk just seems like a golden opportunity with everyone being off today and no other motorsports on tv.
Can racing aficionados tell me what SVG did wrong on the restart last night? I see on Twitter and Reddit he’s catching some shit for this maneuver but it seems like he’s racing to win . I also gather from social media that the guy he passed Austin Hill is something of a whiny bitch.
He’s just following Senna’s quote. “If you no longer go for a gap that exists, you're no longer a racing driver.”.
He maybe stuck his nose down in a hole that wasn’t technically big enough and shoved the other guy out. Watching it again maybe SVG was even the owner of that line by that point, making Hill in the wrong for squeezing him. Either way, if nascar is going to going to disregard track limits on road courses then that’s 100% fair game. If he had driven into him and pushed him off the track or spun him then that’s a different story. Good move given the circumstances.
He wasn't going to make the corner and used Hill up to do so. I'm not sure I'm all that offended by it but I can see their point.
I do think you have to go into that corner with a plan "what am I going to do if he gets into me." I mean it's for a race win and I've seen Hill be real aggressive. It mostly comes off like whining the more I think about it
There is a choose rule for road courses right? There is no way you should restart and not pick the inside line for that corner. That’s the main turn on the restart where the race is run.
