he also had a DQ on a second place finish and wrecked leading on the last lap of darllington. He had plenty of chances to make it.
I know Bubba has gained alot of attention but in all honesty he is not a great driver. It's looking like he will go to Ganassi in the 42 but I don't see him being there long. It's kind of like Danica when she came in. She was big in the media at the time but once they hype settled, you saw that she was not as talented. The fact that they are overlooking Ross Chastain for Bubba is insane to me. They are going for attention and sponsorship money over talent.
Eh, I think you're underrating Bubba as a driver. He's been in a shit car with pretty respectable results. As for the Chastain comparison, they're pretty comparable. Their results in Xfinity and Gander are similar. Chastain has been slightly better in the former, and Bubba better in the latter.
Yeah, I dunno. I think people around and in the sport have plenty of respect for Bubba's driving ability. We are four months removed from Bubba having to park a car at Charlotte because they couldn't risk breaking another wheel hub because RPM/42 team didn't have the cash to buy new ones. But as to the latter point, the ability to generate sponsorship money as a driver is more important now than perhaps ever. It's absolutely part of the equation, whether you think it's fair or not.
On the prerace show, Bob Pockrass reported it looks like Denny Hamlin will end up buying the Germain Racing outlet and the #13 charter. Combine that with Leavine Family Racing Toyota’s, and that’s likely where Bubba could end up.
On one hand I love the oval at Indy On the other hand it's not been a good race to watch possibly ever
Superspeedways, short tracks, and road courses. That's all I want. The 1.5 mil tracks are fun for 1 lap on a restart and then the leader pulls away and it's boring af.
I'm guessing changing the Bristol spring race has more to do with sagging attendance in recent years than anything else. The August night race is usually sold out or close, but the spring race is the complete opposite.
I still don't get it. I want Nashville tickets. I want Nashville to get the short track ready the next year
Thought Nashville Fairgrounds needed a lot of work before it would even possible get a date. I’m not too excited about Nashville Superspeedway.
It does and the area around it. I use to drive by it every day. But it's been a year or so since I have been over there. I'm excited about the other Nashville track because I can be there in 40 minutes. And Im working on a contact that has land right beside the track to camp.
The addition of some brand new road courses is pretty cool. When I read the headline they were going to do a dirt track I thought it was bad ass. Not so much with Bristol. Would have been way cooler if they went to a true dirt track. Not sure the logistics and dirt track locations that could handle it, but it would be cool if they had a mid week night dirt track race paired with a Sunday race at a regular track.
I feel like they could fairly easily pull it off at Charlotte What I think would be amazing is having them all race sprint cars at Knoxville on like a Wednesday and then drive down and do the cup race in Kansas on Sunday
Road America should would be great to go see if it wasn't July 4th. Still nice to see that track get another top series race.
The ending didn't record bc they changed channels. Whats the argument about the ruling? Elliot clearly goes below to advance positions, which is illegal. Did something happen outside of the video?
Hamlin went below the line, passed like 4 cars and received no penalty. DiBenedetto forced a car below it and got a penalty. I have no problem with Hamlin being the winner or DiBenedetto's being penalized but at least be consistent
I tried to find video of the last lap but the one above is all I could find. Do you have a video of Hamlin passing below?
There was a yellow line incident earlier in the race too. I think Logano forcing someone down, but that driver ended up backing off and not improving position.
Agree with Junior in that NASCAR just needs to do away with the yellow line penalty. How many more cautions could it possibly create? Probably wouldn't be an issue, but it's just they are selective with their enforcement of it. Logano forces Elliott down, Logano gets penalized. Dibenedetto forces Hamlin down, Hamlin uses it to pass 2 other cars beyond the wreck. Dibenedetto gets penalized, Hamlin wins the race. Buescher pushes Elliott down, Elliott gets penalized, but Buescher gets to keep his spot. NASCAR just gets in that NFL pass interference territory with these yellow line calls. It's selective enforcement at best.
If you can drive on it and keep control then fair game. Don’t want them that low put some tire spikes down there.
