I've heard and I agree that there shouldn't be out of bounds in racing. If you don't want them there, make it where it's not an advantage to drive there
If Larson doesn't get the 88 ride, I hope Matt D. gets it. I also think Ty Dillon would be a good fit.
Wonder if Matty D has a good run next year if Penske adds a 4th car in ‘22 of if he’ll need to find a new ride.
I wonder what Denny’s long term goal is with the Bubba venture. Bubba and Matty D are tight. You could do much worse than having those two as your two-car team
Does tony give Larson a shot? I thought he would have picked Larson when he originally chose Busch then Suarez.
Seems like Larson's more of a sure thing but it's hard to know the behind the scenes stuff like this or if there are any difficulties with bringing Larson back
The 88 team is the least sponsored HMS car. Rick sponsors most of the 88 with Hendrick Automotive sponsorship. Easier to put Larson in the 88. Believe that's why they moved Bowman to the 48.
I assume most don't care for it but I really like the Roval. Feel like it always results in a fun race.
went last year and it was a blast. Being a fan of the 9 and seeing him plant the tires right in front of me then come all the way back was incredible.
That pretty much confirms Larson to Hendrick. Also think they might retire the 88 and put him in the 5.
Correct. On Dale Jr.'s podcast last week, he said it's pretty much a guarantee "that dirt car driver" will be moving to the 88 but they are rebranding and changing the number to 5 or possibly 57.
Larson would never get the 88 anyways just to avoid the PR headache. White supremacists have latched onto that number to use regularly. I highly doubt Larson, HMS or even NASCAR wants to deal with answering those questions.
Larson drops an N-bomb, gets fired/suspended, sits out the COVID season, and falls into a better team. Failing upwards.
I figured he would have been to Hendrick or Stewart after this season pre-Nbomb, wasn’t sure after it happened or how soon it’d happen.
I thought he'd end up there until a nascar beat guy got into the politics of guys getting rides and how Ford wanted Briscoe in the 14
Just that Ford, and I guess all manufacturers in general, have a significant amount of say into who goes into a car which I never really knew or thought about
Martinsville is one of Harvick's worst tracks. He's got a big lead but if someone below the cut line wins he's only got a low double digits lead on the cut line. Chase and Truex are good at Martinsville
