By the way. If any of you dog lovers (or anyone you know) are interested, GPA Nashville is hunting for foster homes. They only have about 10 foster homes right now and they are swamped with applications and potential dogs. The more foster homes they have, they more dogs they get adopted out. They keep asking me but I just don't have the time for two dogs right now. They provide all the food, crate, etc for the fosters. Their dogs get adopted awful fast right now too.
may try and sell the wife on moving to Nashville, great jobs, cost of living/housing is really reasonable for this kind of city give me your itinerary for two days to sell someone on this fine city, what neighborhoods to stay in, places to go hear music, restaurants I kind of have a handle on just from casually reading this thread over the last year, anything outdoors not too far?
I really like the Belmont/Hillsboro area, Sylvan Park, and East Nashville...guess it depends on what kind of neighborhood you like. Percy Warner Park and Radnor Lake are nice...there's a little antique village called Leiper's Fork that's about 30 minutes away but it's a beautiful drive and would be a good place to go grab breakfast and be in the country for an hour or two.
Neighborhoods West Meade Sylvan Park Belmont/Hillsboro Forest Hills Oak Hill Places to bring your wife: Belle Meade Plantation, Cheekwood, Percy Warner Park, 12th South shopping area, Parthenon and Centennial Park, Frist Center for the Visual Arts and Belmont Mansion Music: The Bluebird and Lower Broadway bars for stereotypical country stuff. Exit/In Cannery Row for good music. Maybe City Winery and 3rd & Lindsley for a sit down show that can be traditional Nashville country or good music
we like walkable but quiet/residential off the main areas somewhere we could rent a house for the first year or two Sylvan Park seems right up our alley
#Nashville Predators Great start to the 2nd half of the season. win 6 of 7. Finally moving up the playoff standings. Hope this train continues.
The dude that got shot is one of my wife's friends. He got carjacked and took two to the chest in the process. In stable condition though. No matter how much east Nashville progresses.... east Nashville gonna east Nashville.
East Nashville is where my cousin and her fiance are going to be looking at when they come visit from San Diego this summer. They were originally looking at Denver but the cost of living here and the exploding food scene (he's a restaurant manager out there) are tilting them this way. Plus they love live music including country and would have multiple family members within a couple hours of Nashville. Where all should I take them while they are here to sell them on our awesome city? Yea yea I know I'm not quite in the city but the point remains.
Visiting Nashville for the first time in 2 weeks for a bachelor party. Thank god I found this thread, bachelor was on the verge of booking a pedal pub. Taking note of everything in the OP and will be reading this thread as much as possible next couple weeks. Appreciate any additional recs.
We have a bunch of financial analyst positions open again. Also have some IT and data/quantitative analyst positions open.
I know some people that go regularly but not sure if they have season tickets or just buy them. I'll ask though and let you know.
I had some hook ups for some discounted tix that I were told to be a slam dunk and they fell through. And everyone else I know already gave theirs away because I waited.
I scored tix, phew. looks like 400 degrees reopened off Clarksville Pike. Also, anyone ever go to Slow Burn up in Madison? this is hot chicken week and a lot of places doing 5 dollar specials.
I can't believe these fuckers get away with charging 24 for three hours of parking on a Monday night.
That's what I did. Just did not expect it to be that bad on a random Monday night. Shows how much I'm out I guess.
Just a heads up that little wine and spirits store next to hops and crafts has som hopslam if y'all want any
Thanks for the reminder. Just got some from my store here in Brentwood. Only 2 cans per person though.
I really fucking hate the people (or the gay guy who always wears a bowtie) who book shows for VU's events like Commodore Quake and Rites of Spring. I want everyone in this thread to make sure to take advantage of the new lifetime concealed weapons license for a bargain basement price. Nashville is getting dangerous so stay armed.
THIS. I feel like everytime I turn around the news is reporting someone else getting fucking shot and it's not just isolated to the "bad parts" of town. This shit is getting dumb!
Yup, it's no longer the feel good safe city. Got some bad hombres roaming around and it's getting worse.
BIGASSTITTIES The survivor is my friend's niece. http://www.newschannel5.com/news/suspect-charged-in-cannon-county-deaths
I cannot wait until the trash is gone in East Nashville. Nothing has happened on my street since we bought the house last April but I feel like the frequency of shootings is increasing in the surrounding area. I can never understand the idiotic people who post in the East Nash facebook group who simply state that new home owners should just learn to deal with the shootings and random gun shots as we should have done more research before moving to the "hood."
man I remember helping my cousin move into a place in East Nashville like 20 years ago that was scary as shit Real Estate tickets go on sale Friday at 9 AM MT. Mac DeMarco tickets go on sale Friday at 8 AM MT
