Not sure why nashville needs another “burger bar” but most of them are so underwhelming anyway that maybe this place will be better. I would rather Boscos just come back. Pretty excited about the Sake room though.

    http://www.tennessean.com/story/new...s-mass-transit-plan-for-music-city/759973001/

Calling it an "investment in Nashville's future" that can't wait, Mayor Megan Barry on Tuesday unveiled a monumental proposal for a $5.2 billion mass transit system, the most expensive, far-reaching and complicated project in Metro history.

Barry wants Nashvillians to go to the polls in May to approve via referendum raising four taxes to pay for the massive undertaking — a combination of 26 miles of light rail, expanded bus service, and a major tunnel below downtown that would serve as a central connecting point for the city’s new transit lines.

Leading the way as a revenue generator would be a one-half percent hike to the sales tax that would jump to 1 percent in 2023. She’s also proposed increases to the city’s hotel-motel tax, rental car tax and business and excise tax.

Dubbed “Let’s Move Nashville: Metro's Transporation Solution," the entire project has a timeline 15 years, with improvements to existing Metro Transit Authority bus services on tap in 2019. But the first light rail line would not open until 2026.

Like the idea of improvements with the bus system by 2019. 10 years is not that far away if they can actually deliver

Seems like a no brained decision. Would be an economic boost when it comes to jobs building it, lessen congestion, be a selling point when trying to bring new companies here, etc.

I’m sure idiots will be all “not raising my taxes”.

26 miles of light rail isn't much if you think about it.....

Initial rail should only stretch a certain distance. People in suburbs should drive/bike to the stations to ride into town. If demand is high, they can extend them later on

This is what I was thinking. Have them start a few miles out on the main routes in and meet in the center somewhere. Grand Central like. People in the burbs can drive to the starting point nearest them then hope on the rail. As demand and population in expands, expand them out.

How is the upper level in Bridgestone Arena for hockey games? Decent view or would I be better off looking for tickets lower?

Great view. Had season tickets in the upper level the last 4-5 years. Not a bad seat in Bridgestone. Try to get tickets in 303.....it will change your life.

Jax Teller has a buddy with a suite and I actually like the overall view of our section (316) better than the suite level. That being said, I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. I'd take Taco Sa1ad's advice and look at upper level tickets behind the goals instead of something near center ice.

If he is that concerned about the view, then he should look at the first 6 rows of sections 315-320. These seats are the same distance from the ice as the 200s seats on the side of the ice. This end doesn't have 200 level because of suites and AIZ, so the upper deck is lower than the rest of the uppers.

But, if he wants atmosphere, look for 303 or the adjacent sections like Taco Sa1ad said.

WEDGEWOOD-HOUSTON - The owners of the original Melrose Billiards dive bar and pool hall have plans to bring it back, as business partners Jerry and Jim Chandler are looking to openChandler Brothers Houston Street Pool Room by the end of the year. Located at 429 Houston St., the 4,000-square-foot bar will have an industrial art deco vibe and will feature the bar and pool tables from the old Melrose Billiards location, plus ping pong tables and of course a full bar serving wine, beer and liquor. Guys I absolutely recommend doing the closed course track day that music city dream cars does once a month. Holy shit that was a blast. Only bad thing was your 5 laps goes so fast that if there's no one else waiting you're highly tempted to buy 5 more laps in a different car.

Got a buddy coming in town next weekend, and he was asking for recommendations for where to watch college football. I know the valentine is the official uga bar for game-watching, but I've never been there. Is it any good for football watching? Any recommendations downtown or midtown?

Hot chicken specialist Hattie B’s will soon have a trio of Nashville restaurants with lines out the door, as its Melrose-area location is slated to open on Thursday, Nov. 2.

Located at 2222 8th Ave. South in the former home of short-lived fast-casual restaurant The Hook, lovers of Hattie B’s brand of the popular Nashville dish will find all of the fiery fowl, sides, desserts and brews they can handle.

The roughly 3,000-square-foot interior space will have 85 seats, with another 50 on the 800-square-foot outdoor patio. Co-owner Nick Bishop, Jr. says that they are especially excited about the front patio and lawn setup, which will feature two sets of cornhole, a bar, an outdoor television and lawn chairs.

Expect hours to be the same as the Midtown and west side locations: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Nashville bros and bro my buddy is going Nashville for his moms birthday on November 11th. Is there any Buckeye bars for him to go to for a watch party? Or any other recommendations for college football viewing. He has been numerous times just mostly in summer time.

    Thanks.
