One of Nashville’s most popular hot dog joints has closed, with a new doughnut and hot dog concept taking its place. The Dog of Nashville, which opened at 2127 Belcourt Ave. in Hillsboro Village in 2007, closed its doors at the beginning of November. A notice (see below) has been posted to the front door that the business is now under new ownership and that the new concept will be called The Donut + Dog. The restaurant will serve doughnuts, hot dogs, and gourmet coffee, along with a weekend brunch, according to a recent post on The Dog of Nashville’s still active Facebook page.
I saw this yesterday. Makes me sad because the Dog had legit burgers, dogs and amazing fries and fried jalapeños but no one ever went. People always talk about “I Dream of Weanie” like it’s worth a shit and the Dog was infinitely better. I used to go there all the time with my ex and it definitely has some sentimental value. This is probably going to fuck it all up and who cares about a donut. Oh well. I’m looking forward to the brick & mortar Daddy’s Dogs
I think Dog was just a cunt hair away from the location that would’ve made it really boom. It was pretty solid but I bet it would’ve really done a killing if it was like 100 yards closer to 21st
While rumors have been making the rounds for the past year or so that Danny Meyer’s unstoppable NYC burger joint Shake Shack has been eyeing Nashville, there have been no specifics to report. But Eater has now gotten word from several trusted sources that Shake Shack has plans in place to open its first Nashville location in the Green Hills neighborhood. The target specifically is 4031 Hillsboro Pike, a prime corner retail spot in the Hill Center Green Hills development. Originally home to a Sweet Cece’s frozen yogurt store which closed over a year ago, the next planned tenant was Yeah! Burger out of Atlanta. But it has now been over a year since those plans were first announced, with no movement. Eater reached out to Yeah! Burger reps for comment, but did not receive a response. But again, a number of sources say that Yeah! Burger has backed out of those plans, and is no longer focusing on the Nashville market.
Kutchina & Keller opens in Germantown tomorrow. And The RollOut opened up by Slim & Huskies. Damn their cinnamon rolls.
Pretty interested in K&K. Eastern European fair with mostly European beers. I’m so glad it’s not another fucking craft beer burger bar.
know a guy that works on the set of Nashville. They are filming at Dawghouse South and Tin Roof this afternoon if anyone wants to go try and accost Hayden
Ate at Von Elrod's last week. Got the Lockhart (hot link sausage w BBQ onions, beer cheese, and pepper jelly) with a side of truffle oil fries. . Highly recommend. I think Vui's Kitchen opened up where Couchon used to be? Gotta smack dat banh mi sandwich one of these days. Just saw that K & K's was open. Curious to see how it is.
Vui's opened up Wednesday. Only open for lunch currently. Kutchina opened Thursday. No reservations that I know of and 2 separate bar spaces.
Preds are on fire. If not for that blown game in Minnesota recently, they would be on their way to an 8-game win streak while averaging like 5 goals a game. That’s fun.
Still makes me nervous with this latest trend of stomping the shit out of teams through 1 and 2, but then let them creep back in it in the 3rd. A win is a win but I don't like it.
I implore everyone in this thread to please give 2 minutes of your time to call Bob Corker's office in DC today. Tell him to vote NO on this tax bill. It's a fucking abomination. 1. It will add 1 trillion dollars to the deficit. 2. Corporate tax cuts remain but under $100,000 earners will be taxed MORE as soon as 2019. 3. It repeals the individual mandate and will cause healthcare premiums to sky rocket. His number is 202-224-3344. Call this number. Be polite because you will get an intern who listens to this shit all day. Tell them to please tell Corker to vote NO for any of the reasons stated above. Corker literally stated two months ago he would vote NO on any bill that added to the deficit....but now he's wavering.
couldn't go last night, but keep posting throughout the season of this comes up again Terrible 3rd period last night
Corker is voting No on the Tax Bill. Thank you everyone who called/emailed/faxed. I don't think it'll matter and Corker was probably waiting until they had the votes to come out looking "better" but still.
MLS plans to announce two expansion teams 'around Dec. 19-20' Four cities will be competing for the next two MLS expansion slots that are scheduled to be announced before the end of the year. MLS announced on Wednesday that the following four expansion bids (listed in alphabetical order) will make formal presentations to MLS Commissioner Don Garber and the league's Expansion Committee on Dec. 6 in New York: Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner III – Co-CEO of American Financial Group and Owner, Chairman and CEO of FC Cincinnati Scott Farmer - CEO of Cintas Corporation Detroit Dan Gilbert – Owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Founder and Chairman of Quicken Loans, Inc. Tom Gores – Owner of the Detroit Pistons and Founder, Chairman and CEO of Platinum Equity Nashville John Ingram – Chairman of Ingram Industries Inc. and CEO Nashville Soccer Holdings Wilf Family – owners of the Minnesota Vikings Turner Family – Managing Partners of MarketStreet Enterprises Sacramento Kevin Nagle – Managing Partner of Sac Soccer & Entertainment Holdings and Minority Owner of the Sacramento Kings Jed York – CEO of the San Francisco Forty-Niners Mark Friedman – President of Fulcrum Property Group and Minority Owner of the Sacramento Kings, and other limited partners. Following the presentations on Dec. 6, a meeting of MLS’s Board of Governors on Dec. 14 in New York City will have additional discussions on expansion with ownership representatives from every MLS club. "The leaders of the Cincinnati, Detroit, Nashville and Sacramento MLS expansion ownership groups have bold visions and innovative plans for their clubs, stadiums and their involvement in their respective communities," Commissioner Garber said in a league statement. "We are pleased these highly-respected business and sports leaders have been so determined to bring Major League Soccer to their cities. We have been greatly encouraged by the progress that all four of these groups have made and we are looking forward to their presentations."
being that it seems two more teams will round out MLS expansion next year, bodes well that Nashville gets one of them. Detroit isn't building a new stadium, so they are probably fucked. Cincinnati just approved a stadium deal, so they are the biggest threat. Because it is late in the game, maybe they pushed back and told to wait a year or two.
I want to go but cant. I put all my eggs in trying to scalp Greta Van Fleet tickets in a couple of weeks.
Damn the Preds are smokin right now. Another nickel on the board last night. Good to see Saros have a monster game on the road.
Im glad Jason Fitz is leaving the morning show on 102.5. I didnt like him or his "free stuff" screech.
