Thai Ni Yom is another spot on Charlotte worth checking out. They used to run out of a food truck at the farmers market and opened up right before COVID shut everything down. Some really good cheap eats out that way
gf and I did a burger challenge and blind taste tested Dino’s, Shake Shack, Hugh Baby’s, and Joyland. I felt like Joyland was the best of the 4 and she preferred Hugh Baby’s over everything else. Interested to do it again putting those two up against Gabby’s and Grillshack.
we only had the burger and it was fantastic. It’s all no-touch; you pay online and they bring your order out to the curb and put it on the hood of your car
Wild that Hugh Baby's got brought up today as I went there for lunch with a gift card. Got a burger and a chili cheese dog w/ a milkshake. Excellent meal for my tastebuds.
I’ve still never had it and I can almost spit on the place it’s so close to wear I live. I am ashamed
you should be. Make it right tonight. Your order is as follows: burger Fries Horseradish ranch on side Spicy ketchup on side
anyone remember how awesome the burgers were at Fat Mo's on White Bridge back in the early 2000s? I dunno what the hell happened to that location but its quality fell off a cliff in the back half of that decade and now that small patch of land is home to a Mexican place it's called Taqueria Don Carbon Express and has excellent reviews on both Google and Yelp Las Palmas is right near there so might be tough for them to hang around
those condiments tho also I can’t believe I spelled “where” “wear” I swear I’ve pickled my brain during quarantine
Anyone been to 1892 in Leipers Fork? Thinking of going for my birthday dinner in a couple of weeks. I think they have outdoor seating.
Need some more of these to sell in 37206. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1309-Edgewood-Pl-Nashville-TN-37206/41102981_zpid/
better late than never. Still though... knowing the amount of trumptards around... how does this get enforced?
it also apparently has 13 exceptions it's just an order in a nominal sense Williamson County sucks so hard
So it's about as toothless as the Nashville one. Broadway Thursday and Friday really looked like it was being enforced.
If anyone missed it... https://www.tennessean.com/story/ne...ovid-19-cases-fourth-july-weekend/5374653002/
My neighbor caught this guy on camera in his truck this morning then walking into our driveway and trying the doors on both our cars. Apparently some other people on the area caught him on camera around the same time. None good enough for the cops to get a description though.
will officially put HoneyFire BBQ up there with Monell's for favorite restaurant in town. Have now picked up from them three times and everything has consistently been outstanding. Once the pandemic is over, their indoor space would be a great place to watch the Preds/Titans/etc. Girls who work there don't seem half bad either if they have HS sports this winter, BA has a rising junior guard, Skyy Clark, who just transferred from SoCal. He's yet another 5* for them with offers from UNC, UK, KU, etc. Might be fun to watch him the next couple years if possible Cane Ridge HS also has a 2022 5* prospect in SF Brandon Miller
there are some new stop signs on the stretch of Woodlawn between Ensworth and Estes. Those are such a welcome addition IMO. Used to dread turning onto Woodlawn in rush hour, especially if the sun is in your eyes nope I've done the regular pork shoulder sandwich, Alabama Slammer (hickory-smoked pulled chicken with candied bacon) and the Diablo Jones (hickory-smoked pulled pork, white queso and fried jalapenos). I'll have to try that next their bourbon baked beans
I'm extremely out on the MLB coming to Nashville unless it is taking over/renovating the current Sounds stadium as it is (the Sounds currently have a contract there). The taxpayers will get placed with the bill of a new stadium and we won't be able to bring in 10k fans per game (or at least nothing I have seen would make me believe that). Would it be cool? Absolutely. I would go to games and love it. Is it smart, logical, intelligent, fiscally responsible, or probable? No. Hard, hard no.
But the Cumberland River looks so blue and peaceful in their drawing! Hasn't the rumor always been the Devil Rays would end up relocating here?
IMO to be successful MLB teams generally need to be located in cities with high housing density (NYC, Boston, Chicago, Philly, Pitt, DC, SF, LA, etc) or have really proud traditions and a history of success (STL, Cincy, ATL, KC, etc). We just don't have the density. It's a AAA city, nothing wrong with that. Miami has density we'd kill for and they can't get more than like 7K at a game Vandy has the best college program in the nation with an unreal MLB pipeline and they provide unlimited access to the public and they struggle to fill their games charging $12 in a really nice stadium with free and easy parking. And that's not just games played early in the season when it's cold, those games draw like 17 fans (most of them parents of local players). This city just doesn't have tons of young people who give a shit about baseball. We'd be a huge embarrassment from an attendance perspective. Young people here like drinking in the sun in trendy environments so maybe just add a big beer garden to the Sounds stadium btw the Ole Miss girls I saw at the Hillwood track this morning were really getting after it. Bama and OM seem to be the #1 school for kids from FRA and CPA right now
You can't use Miami as an example. Probably the worst sports city in America. Nobody goes to Dolphins, Hurricanes, Panthers, Marlins games and the Heat had awful attendance pre Wade/Shaq/Lebron years. FL is not a baseball state because so many people move down from up north and keep allegiance to those teams.
Rays owner wants to split the team between Montreal and Tampa area. The Trop is old and St. Pete is far from "Tampa." The team would have better attendance if they got out of their St. Pete contract and built a new stadium in Channelside near Amalie Arena (TB Lightning.)
Someone in another neighborhood nearby caught people on camera last night too. Probably going on all over right now.
The area around Cayce homes has been hit hard in the last few days. They have moved on from checking doors to just breaking car windows. A few weeks ago, I caught 6 teens on camera checking car doors at 2 AM. They stole a gun out of a truck 1 street over.

holy shit fuck anyone with a Bill Hagerty sign in their front yard. Thinking about going back to 1999 and buying a bunch of eggs to show my disapproval like when Bush was running for president this Hagerty ghoul is running for a senate seat and all his signs say "endorsed by Trump" on them He is basically a male Marsha Blackburn. A total monster only seen a handful in West Meade thankfully. But one of the houses with his sign will occasionally have their Daughters of the Confederacy mail sent to my parents house because the addresses are similar. It always goes in the trash. And they should get egged. Seems fair to me and evangelical financial "guru" Dave Ramsey is unable to hold some business conference in Orlando like he had planned, so he is bringing it and hundreds of people to Franklin as cases surge in Middle TN and across the state
Agreed on both. I can’t imagine being proud to run on an “endorsed by Trump” platform. And fuck Dave Ramsey. I used to think he was a genius and still think some of his principles are sound, but they are extremely low level and are for people with no knowledge. Even some of his tried and true principles are dumb. Plus he’s a piece of shit.
Ditto, but I don't think our mayor is the issue. The Metro Council is full of idiots, woke people that act first, and think later.
