Yeah, like others have said, it’s a great place to rent. Good restaurants and bars. And my favorite butcher, Bare Bones, is right on 51st.
Thanks. Locked up a place today. Moving in end of of the month. Would love to grab a beer and watch football somewhere sometime with anyone who lives in the area.
probably because a lot of the good indie venues are closing down and some of the city is losing that pre-chud invasion charm it had a decade ago
I think Nashville is better now than when I first moved here in 2014, and East is way better than when I bought in 2016. Less crime, more top-tier bars/restaurants, better grocery stores, more music venues with better variety (It seems we have had more EDM come here than previously)
Nashville pre eclipse was peak Nashville I’m all for progress but demolishing these venues and businesses that have character and define the neighborhood or city in lieu of a high rise or condos is worth making a fuss over. A prominent business being priced out or forced out of their establishment is worth making a fuss over. See their comments. Plenty of local businesses and artists supporting them and upset about the change…
and what's the replacement for a lot of these places? a restaurant group opens their 9th nashville restaurant? another cookie cutter brunch spot? cool.
its just a chud yuppie city through and through now. There’s really no distinction between the (overpriced) neighborhoods any longer. This city is a shell of its former self and the more I visit other cities the more I realize how little I care to be here any longer. Nashville just doesn’t do anything for me. I miss the days of seeing service industry types, musicians and artists mulling around drinking in 5 points, 12th south, midtown and it’s progressively just become more and more teeming swarms of baby strollers and labradoodles. It just feels increasingly like a haven for the type of people I don’t have anything in common with and the city doesn’t offer enough to mitigate that. Nashville was set to become the next Austin and instead has become sort of this cookie cutter Christian influencer wonderland. It just feels so soulless.
Denver > Nashville and that is why we are moving in a couple years. Can’t have kids in the Davidson County school system. Plus, I want to be neighbors with my bro, bro
Appears that recreational weed is legal here? Visiting and forgot my shit at home if Y where in town would y’all recommend to grab something concert sat night at Ryman thanks gents
It’s all very confusing because last time I was downtown some guys were clearly selling weed with signs right on Broadway and smoking joints. I couldn’t figure out what was happening because it isn’t legal here still.
There will be Delta 8 vendors around the venue. With all the billboards and signs, I see why you'd think it.
It's that delta 8 stuff. Although if I remember correctly metro did de-criminalize small amounts. Maybe bro or Daddy Rabbit can provide better clarity on that.
If you really want the real thing you could drive to IL and hit a dispensary. I know metropolis is only about 1.5 hours away but there's probably one closer.
Well I mean it is metropolis.... Apparently I was not paying attention to how long that trip was at all. Guess it's more like 2.5 hours away.
Booked this place for bachelor party Feb 2-5. Now trying to put together stuff to do and restaurants and bars. Group of 10 dudes all in mid 30s. https://www.vrbo.com/1571897?adults...medium=email&utm_source=SYS&utm_term=20221201
East, near Shelby/Cayce Does seem high for February. I thought Winter was our "off-season" We have shit weather for the next week.
like, a group of 10 dudes, likely white, are going to be fine walking around near and toward downtown.
Thanks guy who most definitely doesn't live in East Nashville for chiming in on East Nashville related crime.
Yea I'm familiar with the area/neighborhood and pointing out that it's quite an expensive jump in price even if it was in an nicer part of town
We looked at this cheaper option but I ran it past my cousin who lives in Nashville and she said this area was little sketchy: https://t.vrbo.io/WkviKNz1qvb
Both area could be called “a little sketchy” but like others have said, you should be fine with a large group. If possible, I would avoid walking back to that house from downtown as a single, though.
makes me sad that Rodney Scott’s is downtown in this monstrosity. I was very excited when I heard he was opening a location here
Predators aren't playing while we are there. We're probably going to do top golf. What areas would you recommend. Restaurants for some good dinners out. Bars. Breweries. TIA
This is just a little odd, the host is a female but for some reason used a guys profile head shot (who I sort of know) edit: nm, the host info does show as Blake. But still not sure why it has Sarah on there
Can I get some recommendations for a good steakhouse or other good dinner spots. Also need good lunch and brunch spots. What are some cool bars in Nashville that aren't downtown/broadway?
You could do some damage at the bars starting in 5 Points and through East Nashville. Tons of cool spots right off Gallatin. Red Door, Attaboy, Pearl Diver, The Fox & Mickeys Tavern to name a few. Steakhouses are pretty easy to find but Kayne Prime, Carne Mare, The Southern, Merchants, The Standard are popular spots downtown. You'll pay the Nashville tax going to a steakhouse though when most fine dining spots will have similar cuts. Personally I'd go to The Optomist, Geist, or without question The Continental for the prime rib. Mothers Ruin is one of my favorite bars and in my favorite neighborhood. You're next to Monell's here for some midnight brunch. Sonnys is a decent spot down the road to regroup for a drink with their outdoor patio. Bearded Iris (brewery) has a large taproom, and Monday Night is right down the street or greenway in a really cool building next to the Cumberland river. They serve cocktails.
