Manchester Orchestra at The Ryman 10/11
Chris Stapleton opening for Jason Isbell Oct 26th. Swoon.
Just got Isbell tickets at the ryman
Anyone have any connections to get on at vanderbilt legends or governors club? any good recs on nicer courses would be appreciated. I'm not great by any means but playing nicer courses makes a big difference sometimes and it's worth the money every now and then.
I've played McCabe shelby and Ted rose and a handful of courses in Murf.
Stop by the Red Cross on Charlotte and donate blood if you have time and haven't had enough gay sex to render yourself ineligible to do so
Gotcha. Phipps' actual offices are located the building I posted, though. That's why I though it was the one you were talking about.
Looking at Metro Maps, the site you are talking about has never been owned by the Phipps and last sold in 2011?
Hate that they made Legends Private instead of semi-private.
Other public courses that I have played recently that are better than your average goat track are Gaylord Opryland and Greystone out in Dickson.
Yes and yes.
Big fan of Hermitage and Legacy as well. All 4 of those are within a 30-40min drive from Nashville
Playing Forrest Crossings this weekend if the rain holds. Has anyone played there?
Skipper's Rover/Suburban has been parked in front of that building just about every day for the past 15 years and there are always trucks with Phipps branding on them parked in the back space. Maybe they just decided to stop leasing it
On the way back from providing the gift of life I noticed a new pizza place is opening on Elliston, NY Pizza. I assume it'll be similar to NY Pie at Nashville West. Sucks for Obie's next door
Hermitage is a good course, just a little more expensive than the ones I posted. Think Opryland and Greystone are ~$60-70 for 18 holes plus a cart where hermitage is >$100. Don't think I've every played Legacy. Might have to try that out soon
Yeah Hermitage is expensive....Legacy you can get on golfnow.com for like $40. Much better value and almost equal to Greystone
Once last summer. It's always backed up. Pretty easy course
If you have any friends that are in grad school at vandy you can borrow their student ID and get on at legends. Cant do it on the weekends though
Is it really that easy? Do you know if they verify if you are a current student? I've got an old vandy card lying around that I would love to use to play out there.
I really like them
It was when I did it. I just told them I was a student and give my fake name for the tee time. Asked to see my id when checked in one time to verify the name. The other time they didn't even ask.
That's awesome. I'll definitely need to try that out sometime. Worst case they just tell me I cant play
I think you are supposed to be in grad school but I'm not sure how they can tell. Yeah I would just call and ask what the deal is. Good luck man
Bob Corker is about as good as it gets for a GOP representative. In a state dominated by the Tea Party we are lucky to have a pair of respectable senators
Since golf got brought up, is anyone on here members at Nashville Golf and Athletic Club? Their junior membership (under 35) seems to be a pretty good deal and I'm thinking about pulling the trigger.
The former VU med student pedophile got a pretty generous plea deal
That adhd stuff is bullshit. I've never heard of that
BIGASSTITTIES gets a weekly ban since his company gave me the official rejection
luckily my #1 option is looking almost 100%
I've played there twice, both on Saturdays. it was backed up once but not terrible and the second time it was fine. Course is pretty open fun to attempt booming some drives off the tee. Plays pretty easy like Cardeja12 said pretty easy not long sets up a good amount of birdie opportunities. Fun course
Must have been a female decision maker heyoooooo
Let's not forget Hermitage or President's Reserve. Also, Gaylord Springhouse is the shit. For surrounding area golf courses that are good.
Pine Creek - Mt. Juliet
Wind Tree - Mt. Juliet
Nashboro Village - Antioch
King's Creek - Spring Hill
Forrest Crossing - Franklin
Kenny Perry - Franklin, KY
Cedar Crest - Murfreesboro
Well, the chick we ended up going with has BIGASSTITTIES
Poor guy didn't have a fighting chance
man he sure didnt. BAT's win. every. time.
Yeah I knew there would be more, I just havent played most of them around here... Named the two I thought of off the top of my head. Was lucky enough to get to play most of the Country Clubs during high school golf, so didnt venture out to places I would have had to pay.
Edit: For clarification, you mean it is the shit? Or Gaylord is actually shit? I've found the course conditions there vary greatly form year to year. Still thinks its a solid course though
Gaylord eats me up for some reason. I'm an 16 handicap and I haven't broken 100 in the last three times I've played there
Where's a good brunch spot?
Tavern - crazy lines so get there early (Vandy sloots galore)
South - bottomless mimosas on either Sat/Sun
Jackson's - Idk I just liked it
Mad Donna's - bloody mary bar
Fenwick's 300 - I have never been here but their breakfast AND lunch are amazing so I just assume
The Southern is delicious
My mom and I were the first customers at the Belle Meade one
Crow's Nest has an underrated brunch
Eat there at least twice a week. Sapphire Blue Cheese biscuits
I love older women in tennis skirts
Damn this is sad
We went to Biscuit Love. It was solid.
TV on the Radio = wow
You had a chance to dabble in Mike Judge's latest genius Silicon Valley?
They were amazing
No, haven't heard of it. I don't have cable at my place (only stream baseball and play video games on my TV) so I'll try to check it out when I'm at the parentals
It's some of the best Judge satire to date...might take a couple of episodes, but it has some KotH tier comedy
Had Dalts this morning...pretty solid for greasy diner food
Dalts was always good for a club sandwich or patty melt and a milkshake back in the day. Every once in a while I'll go sit at their bar, which surprisingly stays active pretty late. I think they will always do a good amount of business
some idiot had to be rescued from a storm drain over by 25th Ave near Centennial Park. Sounds like a job for the National Guard
I want more details of that story. Why? How?
