What kind of food? Downtown franklin has a ton of good spots. Both puckett's restaurants come to mind. Sopapillas is near the corner of franklin rd and moores ln and has good Mexican if you're looking more around North Franklin/brentwood

 

Is this the multiple story place that is kinda hard to navigate? I went there before the franklin brewfest.. good drinks.

I don't have anywhere to compare it to, but Uber seems to be pretty big in Nashville. Everytime I use it, there seems to be a driver within 10 minutes of my location.

 

Dont know about daytime ridership. But, Uber (and lyft really) are seemingly huge in Nashville. Always a few cars within 10 minutes pretty much anywhere in green hills, vandy/belmont, sylvan park and midtown almost every night and then especially on weekends. Typically will see surge pricing at nights starting thursday and running through the weekend.

 

There's a Nashville kid on the U17 USMNT that will be competing in Chile at the U17 World Cup this fall. Tanner Dieterich is his name. He plays D and attended Father Ryan before moving to Bradenton to train in a more competitive environment

 

I take Uber and Lyft every time I go out drinking and I often pay for surge pricing. Assume you would be driving a lot.

 

As if paying for alcohol in bars and restaurants wasn't a big enough waste of money, surge pricing.....lol

Tenno in Brentwood used to be on West End. My boss surprised us by driving us out there for lunch whereupon we realized they now offer a sushi buffet. Wish they had that back when it was on West End

 

All my Dallas friends are really stoked about that Top Golf place opening here. They say it does an incredible business down there. Hopefully that's the case here too

Do you read? These surge fare uber are still typically cheaper or the same price as Taxis. How is that throwing away money?

 

You said you would pay surge pricing any day of the week. That is throwing away money because some of those days the rates will be insane

Explicitly saying you would pay for surge pricing any day of the week instead of taking cabs (which don't jack up rates due to increased demand) is essentially saying I don't care if I throw away money

 

Yes, but then I also explicitly stated that typically those ubers are still cheaper or the same price as a taxi. In the end, I save money by taking ubers 100% of the time rather than taxis 100% of the time. Obviously there are times when ubers are more expensive, but that is not often. As long as you avoid the known peak hours (8-11 on weekend nights) it isnt an issue.

Also, even if you value your time at $10/hr, which is a lowball estimate, you will end up wasting more money(time) waiting on taxis when compared to ubers. From my experience, it is very rare to get a Nashville cab to come within 25 minutes of calling and in the past 6 months I cannot think of a single time where I have waited more than 10 minutes on uber.

So no, im actually saving money when compared to you, someone who takes cabs all the time. AND getting much, much better service at the same time.

 

Is using Uber contributing to the suffering of the less fortunate or are we talking about 2 different issues?
