We have five baseball players in the transfer portal?
top 30 class now fellas. look out
New V-Sabre looks fresh. I don't mind the new Cavalier either but I'm on the fence about it. The shield logo is a no from me.
I am trying to be optimistic
the V-sabres is good. the other two look so cartoonish, like the charlotte bobcats logo. i'm also just resisting anything new regardless of merit.
we saw these last night and laughed them off as fake news but wow.
I do like the new v sabre...but the others are a little too XFL logo-y to me. because I'm old
I just rationalize it as they're recruiting tools for 14 year olds. But yeah, I don't think we'll look back on these as the pinnacle of Virginia athletics.
we got over that cartoon horse mascot debacle without much noise.
I love them. They’re beautiful.
The new typography looks good (except they made the numbers lowkey thicc)
SOME of us got over that horse.
I like this much much more
yeah, that i like more. the new logo had a florida or boise state shade of blue added, i just want navy, orange, and white.
Don’t hate the cavalier logo but hope it’s stays in the background so to speak. T shirts, not uniforms. The shield logo with the hat is trash, as is the circular font (???)
Also that is peak Bronco in that video release. He is getting so excited about an abstract concept and symbolism. Nothing wrong with that, just find it funny
Also: hate, hate, hate the idea of multiple shades of blue and orange.
After dedicating way too much time to the analysis, the thing that annoys me about the shield logo is how front and center the hat is. It's a cool detail/accent on the Cavalier, but on the shield logo it looks too prominent.
And I agree - Bronco's fingerprints are all over this for sure. I'm okay with that.
Is this a recruit announcement now?
I feel awful for Bryce Hall and will never hold it against any kid who wants to go out early again (okay I might)
Agreed. Hopefully he gets a good amount from insurance to offset the difference.
keep stacking up Ws
i did not remember kurt smith being drafted lol
just bronco things
Lol, good point in the comments that we followed that up with the loss to Richmond.
There was a plan all along and it wasn't about winning that year. Pretty cool to see it happen.
BM is unique in CFB for his principled nature but I’d be interested to hear what he would do differently if he could go back in time to spring of 2016.
Couple things to put under the microscope: recruiting standards/strategy and strength and conditioning. Thought it was noteworthy if nothing else that Frank Wintrich leaving for UCLA after the first year was framed as mutual parting of ways and that his replacement was a complete shift in philosophy, more in line with conventional S&C programs.
EVENING BAT SIGNAL, I REPEAT EVENING BAT SIGNAL
I'd be interested in hearing how he'd change his approach too. Basically all we've heard is that he vastly underestimated the amount of work involved, would be curious how he'd change if he had had full information.
frank was on the Juggernaut podcast and talked his philosophy some. he goes against the grain pretty heavily on some things that are staples of strength programs, like he will not let his athletes perform hang cleans. i can see his style not being a fit in some places. i thought it was a weird move, and i would have liked to see Wintrich stay.
side note: Wintrich talked about knee injuries a lot and he has some theories with them that are interesting.
aaand it’s Michael Green. i went to LHS for a year and unless im wrong this is the first recruit from there since Kase Luzar.
Frank has a lot of super interesting things to say. He wrote a great article on his method on LinkedIn a few years ago. Also a really solid guy. I just found it interesting that BM, having brought frank from BYU and having called him one of his greatest hires ever, went in another direction after a year. The 2016 Hoos were one of the most physically “lacking” FBS teams I have seen. You don’t get your ass whipped physically by an FCS team otherwise. Probably more than just a FW problem though.
Will Hill went there
thats right! all i could remember recently from W’burg is David Dean from Jamestown, maybe Warhill had a kid not long ago too.
Interesting. Former 4* 6’4” dual threat QB from Louisiana
that may be the transfer qb Brad and Justin talked about on their podcast. also i think he was recruited by Mullen and stayed true after Mullen left, probably well suited for our offense.
Yeah, I'll feel bad for Brennan if it happens, but if this kid wants to come to Virginia you gotta find a way to make it happen. Mobile QB with a cannon.
Another bat signal
coaches tweeting lil wayne gifs, master p gifs, and waterboy gifs. it’s gotta be the transfer qb
According to twitter he committed.. wow
Weird, I figured there was a low chance because bronco's signal still had #thestandard21, but that's a big get.
damn those msu fans love this kid on twitter
Just realized these guys are in the same “class” and will never play a year together
oh no, this is so sad!
And he was probably a good recruit because he called them Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University instead of The University of Virginia Tech
