Allegedly most of our mountain lions are borderline starving otherwise they wouldn't really ever approach people, this was labor day in malibu park/calabasas: "The family reportedly relocated to Woodland Hills from war-torn Ukraine after losing their home. They were picnicking at the Tapia Park Day Use Area near Malibu Canyon Road in unincorporated Calabasas when a mountain lion sprang from the underbrush, locked onto the 5-year-old boy’s head with its jaw and started to run with him. The boy’s father pounced on the lion, causing the animal to release the child, saving his life." "Richard Fink, California State Park superintendent, told the media: “Lions do attack young kids.” After the attack, he said one of his rangers saw the lion in a tree and she appeared to be lying in wait. The ranger shot and killed it." https://www.dailynews.com/2024/09/1...-state-of-southern-california-mountain-lions/
Probably top 3 on my bucket list is to see a blue whale in person. Largest creature to ever exist on earth. Drones suck in the hands of like 90% of the population, but drones have also brought the best nature shots ever
I can top that, I can look at people get smashed by a car and lose a few limbs without a problem but I can’t do animals Either I was always a psychopath or I was desensitized by Arnold Schwarzenegger in my youth
there’s a lot that pisses me off but the number of animals I see dead on the side of the road in my SW Ohio suburb makes my blood boil. This makes it boil even more. It’s just not fucking caring and selfishness on the part of humanity that allows this to happen.
I can watch animal-on-animal, predator eating prey stuff without problem. Cannot watch anything caused by a human.
Me when the zebra/buffalo/wildebeest escape and make it out of the water. Me when I realize they've lost limbs and/or intestines.
Not enough hunters now a days (assuming you are talking about deer). Possums, armadillos, squirrels and raccoons are sometimes just hard to miss….would never risk wrecking my car to avoid any of them.
