Was in the pool last week and looked up to see a bird hunting. It appeared to be a juvenile hawk of some sort. Not huge but not tiny either. I am not a bird expert so it could be anything. I went out to check the mail a few days later and found the bird chilling in the front yard with a freshly killed squirrel. Bird saw me and took off holding his kill.
Realized the "one" hawk I saw, was actually one of five. They were all hunting last night above my house. They are decimating the local rabbit/rat population and I couldn't be happier. Then my neighbor stopped me late yesterday and showed me a pic and video of a full sized bobcat chilling next to my recycling can yesterday morning. Apparently it was in my backyard drinking from the pool. I have an entire episode of the Nature Channel going on in the Dallas suburbs.
He didn't share it with me but I will try and get it next time. Someone posted this pic on Nextdoor and it was around the corner from my house so I think its the same one.
Jesus Christ, that dude could tip a boat over pretty easily. How do they swim so fast. Would love to see a live video of a hippo swimming under the water at full speed
Not sure if it eats cat food but let’s Justin say the number of “missing cat” posts on NextDoor has skyrocketed since he moved in. I think it’s more likely he eats cats for food....
