Apologies for the Rogan link, buddy sent to me. Nevertheless, this bear fight is for the ages https://www.instagram.com/reel/CsNKluENI-f/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
Makes you think of two massive ancient Roman wrestlers going at it until someone is finally pinned. Also, unless your name is David Attenborough, no one should ever talk that much during a wildlife video.
I can honestly say it did not make me think of two burly handsome men putting their hands all over each other until they’re rolling around on the ground on top of each other.
Lmao. I was watching the Dinosaur series with my boy because he is really into dinosaurs right now, jbr . Attenborough narrates and on occasion is put full screen talking. So my 2 year old literally knows the name of more dinosaurs that I even knew existed and I have no clue how, it is astonishing. So we were watching and he was rattling off dinosaur names and one of those instances occurred where Attenborough appeared. Without hesitation, my boy yelled “ZOMBIE” and immediately jumped off of the couch, snapped his arms out in front of him perpendicular to his body and started walking around saying “he’s a zombie” in a slow drawn out tone until Attenborough disappeared from the screen. Our favorite nature narrator is starting to look pretty damn rough.
You did just describe “bears” lol. But I meant the way they fight. Almost like a wrestling match instead of the bloodbaths you see with other predators.
You talking about the one on Apple TV? It’s done so well. I would’ve been obsessed as kid. So I can only imagine how cool that is to watch with your son. Yeah it’s probably time for DA to just stick to the voiceovers lol.
David Attenborough can do whatever the fuck David Attenborough wants for as long as David Attenborough fucking wants.
Whale breaches and lands on 19-foot boat. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CtBrNH7gvrH/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
Absolutely insane but I think they probably survived because iirc baleen whales can't swallow anything bigger than like a softball.
I imagine being squished around amongst the 8-ft long baleen plates wasn't too fun. Like being pulled back and forth through a forest of 8-foot long, 1/2-inch thick dowel rods coated in 40-grit sandpaper. I think the descriptive term for motorcycle wrecks is apt here: "abrasive trauma"
Shark victim Spoiler https://www.thedailybeast.com/tourists-watch-russian-man-get-devoured-by-shark-on-egypt-beach
Damn that's a really fucked up attack. Usually once they realize it's not a seal or whatever they stop after the initial bite.
I feel like tiger sharks are notorious for this type of shit, but it’s certainly possible I’m misremembering.
My understanding is that they’re generally pretty lazy. Bull sharks are total pricks, though and I know that from dealing with them while fishing.
Eh, I don’t think it actually “ate” the guy. That one in the video is at least 8-9’ or so. Definitely big enough to maim someone to the point where they can’t survive. Whether or not that video is the same shark or even related to this incident is a completely different story
This was briefly discussed in another thread at some point but Tigers are completely assholes and Bulls just a more diverse version of assholes but can't hit you in short water the same way as Tigers.
bull sharks make up a hugggge portion of shallow water bites/attacks here. Idk about that part of the world
“Sharks don’t eat people. They just accidentally bite them and then think “yucky this isn’t a seal!”” - dorky shark scientists everywhere
Yeah no fucking chance I watch that. Never been in the "Alive or not" thread. Hell I can't even watch the 1st 30 sec of a The Dodo vid sometimes. #softaf
Seems it should be pretty easy to confirm. Check to see if there are human remains in the stomach or not.
Speaking of shark attacks, a while back I saw some people online discussing the Simon Nellist attack in Australia last year (probably still the worst one on tape IMO). They were complaining because the attack was categorized as "provoked" by the International Shark Attack File thingy that UF does. I just now saw where the lead UF guy explained why it was categorized as such. https://www.floridamuseum.ufl.edu/s...tion-of-the-recent-shark-attack-in-australia/
