pretty daring trade for both teams not sure i really like it even though it's obvious KAT and Randle sort of needed new starts
Randle seems like a bad fit next to Rudy, and I'm not sure why NY would dump DiVincenzo just to get Towns. And what does DiVincenzo do on a team that already has Edwards? Does he start next to him or come off the bench?
The Pistons have to pick outside the top 13 in 25, the top 11 in 26 or the top 9 in 27 for them to get it. I think that pick would have conveyed like 3 times in the last 12 years of Pistons history.
I honestly wouldn't have the guts to pull the trigger on this one in either direction. Vibes were so immaculate on both those teams last season.
The Knicks are insane to do this, IMO. I don't get it at all. This feels like Minnesota hedging bets more than anything. They had no assets and Towns was just a little bit of slippage away from being unmovable. They end up with a 1 they really need for future moves, an expiring to help with the books, and a great contract even if it's a weird fit.
adding a reliable backcourt rotation piece isnt the worst thing for this roster, and it helps offset the shooting gap between randle and towns ive never been a fan of randle, so i would have preferred not to do the deal
I'm so flummoxed for both teams. I've also been drinking, and I cannot wrap my head around this at all. I still can't figure out how the Wolves look, I'd guess Naz is starting now. But the Knicks are now starting turnstiles at the two most important defensive positions with everyone else on the floor being absolute hell to deal with. Thibs and KAT are both gonna feel sad.
Naz starting would make me feel better about the Randle part of this for Minnesota, but do we really think they would do that with Rudy still having 2 years left? I have some doubts.
Thibs losing his mind when KAT allows a back cut dunk on a random Tuesday night in Charlotte is going to hit like crack
Can't blame anyone but himself considering he's already lived the KAT experience at center for 3 years and still seemingly signed up to do it again.
How much of this is just getting off of Kat's deal and upping their future flexibility? I bet that's a good part of this
thats certainly a positive - would have been hard to have less flexibility than they had an hour ago, now they have some + some additional assets this always seemed inevitable, but not taking on any bad long term money wasnt on my list of possibilities with a kat trade
Seriously, though, the only person I would trust to tell me what I'm supposed to think about probably can't even tweet about basketball at the moment. Fuck ESPN.
At the very least it makes it a lot more plausible for them to keep Naz if he opts out after this season.
heres the early party line one thing we can be sure of is that glen didnt make this trade - he would have done a straight swap, maybe even included a pick or two
I kinda dig the trade for the Knicks I strongly dislike Randle’s game, feel bad for Ant Feel like we kinda got cheated out of seeing the Nova Knicks
This starting five should be really good. But that bench is horrible and two of the top seven (Robinson and Anunoby) are hurt all the time.
