Yeah ant could for sure tie kd assuming he stays healthy with 4 golds Another one and no one catches him ever
Tatum is 26 and already has 2. Same with Booker, who is about to turn 28. Both of them could potentially get to 4.
We had this discussion already but Curry would be the most universally loved player in the league if not for Draymond
Other guys 25 or younger on that Ringer top 100 who could easily play themselves into roles on that 28 team... Jaden McDaniels Herb Jones Jalen Green Jalen Suggs Naz Reid Jonathan Kuminga Trey Murphy Nic Claxton Brandon Miller Dereck Lively Jabari Smith Jr. It's a weird time right now in basketball where the top 5 is filled with a bunch of international guys, but almost everyone else is American. Could see it this year with the Olympic rosters where even countries like Serbia, France and Germany only have a couple NBA guys and then a bunch of randoms from European clubs. Canada's the only country that can put more than four or five legit NBA players on a roster.
KD and Steph share some hatred from when they teamed together too People hated them so much that you had Lebron haters actually rooting for him
Orlando could have 5 Olympians if Suggs plays his way there and Tristan DaSilva makes the German team with the Wagners
This team would likely easily win gold https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba...ection-2028-olympics/a29313a01e2abf004c16a02d
Hey man he said he was a casual. Plenty of people in this thread are casuals and pretend like they aren't
I don’t really understand why Embiid wouldn’t play for the US again. No one would care the next time, but if he switches again, people will be pissed all over again. He does like making people angry though
I mean, that might be pretty close to the truth… I honestly don’t think there’s a ceiling for him. Might be singular enough to stop any basketball team of Avengers at some point
I mean I get it but if Ja finally matures I don’t see how he’s not on the team in LA he was a top 5 US player before all the off the court stuff
well when you put it like that... i guess this is obvious but i hadn't really thought about it. likely never happens again or at least not in my lifetime.
Depending on how you count it, I'd say it's happened three times in our lifetime already 92 Magic, Jordan, Bird 12 Kobe, Lebron, Durant 24 Lebron, Durant, Steph But yeah...it gets increasingly harder to crack a "top 15"ish going forward so you may be right.
Also I had completely forgotten who was on the 2020 team and jesus christ...no idea how we actually won gold. I think I lost those Olympics to COVID memory https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_United_States_men's_Olympic_basketball_team
What five players from the US would you have taken over Ja before all the off the court stuff spiraled him if you don’t think he was one of the top five?
I'm taking it as a top 15 of all time distinction... otherwise there's always at least 5-6 of the top 15 current players on the team
Especially with Lillard playing like trash the entire time. Thankfully Durant was still Durant and Tatum was a lot better 3 years ago than he was the last month.
